Not to sound cheesy, but for the past year, I've been exploring the outdoors through your channel. I have been recovering from a serious accident, so I've been homebound. I miss hiking and camping and going on adventures. For me, watching your videos lifts my spirits while I recover. One more surgery to go, and I hope to get back out there myself! Thank you for being here, my friend.

Luke, I absolutely LOVE the magnificent sound of “WIND!” 🙏❤️
@tinydancer7426
@tinydancer7426 Рік тому
Yeah, wind is cool to listen to .... especially the harmonics that come out of a good gust of wind blowing through and around the pipe frame for my awning. I may be getting some from my next door (townhouses) neighbor's awning frame too. First time it happened I thought it was my gutter doing it (ya know, like coming loose) but I had it inspected by the installer and it is tight to the house .... so it's gotta be the awning frames. It really gets to howling when we have a good storm with high winds.

We packed up and had about 5 miles to the trailhead, trees falling all around, my dog kept stopping out of fear; couldn’t see 10 feet in front of me. The next day a tornado hit that trail so hard it was closed for almost two years. **side note - I always leave super comfy cotton clothes to change into when I get back to my Jeep, makes the long road home fantastic

May I make a suggestion? When the wind is blowing as it was on your hike out and back to the truck, have you ever thought of using a clear pair of safety glasses? That way the wind won't whip around your eyes and possibly cause problems. Thank you for taking us along with you on these camping trips. I abused a Toyota 4WD shot bed pickup when I was younger. I put 300,000 miles on it, much of it riding through bogs with mud up to the doors. I had a total of 7” of lift on it with a suspension and body lift and 33” tires. Because of its durability, I’ve always bought American made Toyotas. I’ve had 5 now, three were highlanders. We traded in my last Highlander this year for a Tesla model Y. I love my Tesla model S so much that I’ve switched to Mars rovers. My cybertruck is still on back order.

I like seeing you make camp and how you set things up. But, what I would really be interested in is seeing you break camp in the nasty weather and pack everything so well in your pack again. It appeared that everything you brought was factory fresh packed in their cases. We all know nothing goes back in the case as well as it came out. Add in cold hands, wind, rain and fatigue and it can be a real challenge just to get everything back in the pack. And the pack usually ends up looking like walnuts stuffed into socks. I would love to see your technique and how you make the magic trick of getting everything back in the pack in miserable weather conditions.

Hi there Luke, xmas greetings from New Zealand. Can i ask why you seldom if ever use a tent with a sewn in groundsheet. I swear by them, so much more comfort and protection. Cheers Dave.

Not sure if this video already exists from you but is there a way we can get some "best practices" when camping? Like when I notice you put your little bags of things back into a larger bag or best ways to pack a bag so you don't lose anything or save time while packing up?

Hi Luke, just watching that made me shiver. I am viewing things from England and a couple of things come to mind regarding the fact you are looking at a possible Japanese import, first thing is it will be a right hand drive the second is that of these imports that came into the UK a few years back and they rotted away very quickly, as in the UK we put a rock salt on our roads in the winter, but in Japan they use a chemical de-icer and therefore their vehicles do not have any under sealing on the underside. This maybe something you already know, but I do not know how you keep your roads clear of ice etc, just thought I would mention it. Great content and a Merry Christmas to all.

Through no fault of yours , just doing reviews , I have bought lot of gear , even if I can’t go out on the trail anymore , I can still camp in bear , mountain lion and alligator country , don’t even have to leave my property

Question, how long is the average burn time for that can of fuel on your mini heater/stove? Also, as a piece of military trivia if you weren't aware, your morning meal of biscuits and gravy was known in all chow halls as SOS, Shxt on a Shingle.

Luke my wife bought me the Garmin instinct solar watch you reviewed and wear all the time for my Birthday. I really like it but I must confess I gotta get used to all the gadgets it has. I was born in the 1960's and it takes a little more for me to absorb this technology lol. Thank you for your honesty in the things you reviewed. This old Army Veteran thanks you. S&H my friend. We are from Puerto Rico and are always watching your UKposts channel. Because of you we go camping a lot more and have bought quite a lot of the things you have reviewed. Thanks again.

We live in Cornwall UK,that wind we get here straight off the Atlantic in the winter exactly the same all night long, we get 60,70,and some really exciting winter's gusts of 80,90mph ,good blog,I was really hoping that wind stayed at that high level for you. As for cars if my dad was still alive he would say you couldn't beat the old Land Rover,he worked on every one of them,they are still going strong all over the world,I live in the country now I see farmers driving them,indestructible work horse, and I feel proud my dad had a hand in building them ,Cheers ☺

Oh now we are camping! Awesome setup. I had to add this in: I have had 4 jeeps. Two of them had slight issues when I first bought them but after that, they were solid. My last jeep went 250K miles when I sold it. It was a tank.

Had to reply.. I've had 5 Jeeps and I've had little to no issues. I currently have the latest JLUR, no problems. I've also had 1 Toyota 4x4 and it had multiple problems. To each his own. I'll go to my grave owning a Jeep. 🙂

Thanks for posting this! Never had a Jeep before, but I have my Dad's last project before he passed. It's a 1985 Jeep CJ7 and it is waiting in line for a complete restore. Wanting to use it to work my way through the Smokey Mountains & do some overlanding.
