@ seeing 50 same looking generic soldiers is different than seeing 50 Maria Falck, even if they are wearing different helmets. You don't mind seeing multiple stormtroopers in Star Wars, they are all generic cannon fodder, but what would happen if you'd started seeing multiple Han Solos fighting together without any explanation? That's the difference between written characters and nameless soldiers, and a lot of people don't want to play as a written character in the multiplayer of Battlefield, they want to play as a generic soldier they can identify themselves.

At least the latest 2 cod has different operators for each team.

Yeah, I’m curious to find out how they implement that.. Like, perhaps you bring a specialist in with points? I would personally prefer if you have the option to just pull in the specialists ‘perks’ onto your own soldier rather than taking control of the specialists themselves. Who knows though, all we can do now is speculate.

But of course perhaps the specialist may be the solider you spawn in with.. again, who knows. We’ll learn more with the gameplay preview.

For real, I'm scrolling through ALOT of comments and we really don't want "specialist", just let us have classes and have the option of choosing a male or female soldier. Uhm. Remember when Battlefield hat no character customisation and 4 classes? Back then, there was a total of FOUR different player models per team. You weren't complaining then about running into the same model all the time, were you? I'd actually prefer to have a more generic, military look that is easy to read from a distance, so you can assess a situation quickly even in hardcore mode (which I strongly hope will be in the next BF game again).

Yeah I was really excited hearing about this new battlefield thing but I don't know I don't think I'm ready for specialists in battlefield, I'm a little iffy on them, but to have them as basically the only units you can play as is really turning me off from this project.

Yeah I'm not really sure why they are changing that system. Out of all the problems with the last two battlefields the class system wasn't one of them lol. If the trailer is any indication though it looks like they learned from their past mistakes and are listening to the community so I think it will be a great game regardless.

I'd rather have all 128 players be nameless soldiers. It breaks the inmersion in my opinion to have the exact same dudes replicated arround. The specialists are a way of pushing the one soldier army mentality, and that doesn't fit in battlefield in the slightless.

That high pitch "I spotted an enemy jet" or "I need ammo." Obviously it's because they just didn't hire too much voice actors. But if people don't care about the same voices there, why do they care here?

There will be customisation. But i think the whole “Specialist” idea should be like the whole BFV character thing.

Seriously. I was so genuinely annoyed when I heard about that. I was hoping for a return to form with the ‘nameless’ grunts of the previous games. Even BFV with its customization-which was horrendous but at least you had the choice of looking realistic-still let you look like you belonged in WW2. If I can have my skin just be a ‘default’ grunt then I’ll pick that even if it means I don’t get special gadget just because I hate these specialists already.

I was hoping it would be like you can select and extra attachment to bring in game to swap out if you want, not be able to swap out any attachment at any time. I also think there should be an animation. That would be so sick, but I can’t imagine if it would be hard to make an animation for each attachment on every weapon, I mean it is a AAA game with like 5 studios working on it so if anyone can do it, it’s dice.

you need to keep in mind the footage jack was shown was pre-alpha and is subject to change it’s possible an animation for changing attachments will be put into the game upon release

Sure two battlepasses from now everybody might look different but at launch it's gonna be a fustercluck of identical clones on both teams shooting each other. How is hardcore supposed to work when the enemy, your teammates, and yourself are using the same specialist?

@@extremeyodeler Yes, Jack has confirmed twice now that you play as specialists instead of traditional "classes", and taking what the battlefield 2042 website has said it also confirms that you'll have the same pool of specialists to play as regardless if you're on the US or RU side.

I’m also concerned about the plus system as it seems too good if there’s 0 wait time between swapping attachments. IMO you should have to wait for an animation to switch attachments

@@kahlei98 yeah some concepts I’ve seen being thrown around that I like is that we choose a backup set of attachments 1 for each slot that we can replace but we can only use the backups we brought and when we do there is an animation for swapping every part so that you can’t instantly have the perfect gun for whatever range you need
