Looks like a great option. Only one turn off so far, the Velcro. I hate Velcro attachments on tents, not entirely sure why but I do, maybe it stems back from me cheaper tent days.

I bought the I person version.. loved it, bomb proof, very interesting to get in and out of , bit like being born.

I had the one person version of this tent for about Seven years. It has done a great job, not a single waterdrop ever in the tent.

I have the same tent..it's the most waterproof tent I own out of the 10 or so I have,i live in the Lake District in North West England where it rains for around 250 days per year,any flaws in a tent soon gets found out here & the Jack Wolfskin Gossamer tent has taken everything that mother nature has thrown at it in it's stride..it's not perfect,it's not spacious but as a shelter to sleep in regardless of what the weather is it'll perform admirably.. condensation isn't a issue,strong winds neither..for the money it's a cracking ⛺

I have one and it has never let me down. Always had a great sleep in my Gossamer 2 even when it was pouring outside...

90 Dollars are a wonderful price for that tent. I have a Jack Wolfskin daysack in use for about a decade now, it costs about the same as your tent these days.

I paid 149 Euros for my Gossamer I. That is around $176.00. I haven't set it up yet but I'm believe that it will be a good experience. Thanks for the review Luke.

I have been using a Gossamer 1 for 15 years, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. I have used it in all 4 seasons in the mountains and on the North sea islands of Germany.

The Gossamer is the best f***ng tent on the planet. I bought my Version 1 almost 10 years ago and have used it for probably more then 150 nights. Not a single time habe I thought about buying another tent and if it ever breakes I will buy the exact same one again. For the price this is just unbeatable.

The $90 you referenced is more than fantastic. I won't bore you with the details but I searched all over the internet and could not come near $90 even for the one man Jack Wolfskin Gossamer II. So bravo to you sir , great steal er I mean great deal.

It is a nice tent, I got it on a sale (last piece from an online store) for about 55 $. It was listed as Gossamer 1, but I got gossamer 2. I used it few times and after adding some Y stakes it is perfect. For 1 person it is a palace, for 2 only if u love each other , with gear in the vestibule. Seems very tough, the fly is some kind of ripstop material. The velcro is actually ok because it helps u center the fly and it alows u to lift up half of the fly if you need to dry the condensation. I used it for bikepacking and mountain backpacking.

Very nice looking tent...hope it passes the Luke's leak-proof test! I always did like the Snugpak Ionosphere but it had some quality issues at the time I wanted to buy one. You got it for a song and dance at 90 bucks. Will anxiously await the overnight rain test.

I have used the one person tent and the two person tent. I really like this tent. You can make it very compact and its easy to set up. Space enough for me and secon person.

Looks good price is good now weather resistance is the next key I like to b dry when I sleep or ducking the elements looking forward to the future reviews of this matter

I have 2 pairs of shorts from Jack Wolskin that me and my wife bought back in 2007(roughly). We still use them at least once a week (at least) and they are still going strong. No issues what so ever.

I have a one man version which has survived a hurricane up hellvellyn mountain in the lake District, a bit draughty but the tent was flattened by the wind all night and was ok.🇬🇧

This is my favourite tent, except I only ever buy the first version. for one person. Good solid ground sheet. No condensation. Quality materials. Ironically I want to add more fixing points for really bad storms. I made a groundsheet / footprint using a British Army Protection kit, making the pegging points with rubber washers and Gorilla Tape. I want to make a cut to shape tarp to go over it too.

Yes it will be interesting to see how well it works for rain at the front as you're walking in or even opening up the fly I see the screen there does water get in the screen inside the tent be interesting to see this one on demonstration of real life

That entrance vestibule looks problematic in the rain. It doesn't look like you would be able to keep water from falling onto the mesh. I think using clips vs the sleeves for the poles would make this easier to setup. Look forward to seeing your final review. Cheers.

Seems like a good tent. But I wouldn't want to have to cook in that small vestibule in case of rain. I like openess as well as coverage over my body in case of rain. I've found the One Tigris Outback a great option for around $180.00 U.S. it has sides that flip up as awings. Its heavier though. To each his own so they say. Appreciate all your reviews. They really help a lot. Respect and admiration from Long Island.

Please show your tear down when you test this. Would like to know how it fits back into the packaging when exposed to the elements, and used the next day at a different site.

Looks like a decent tent (especially for $90!) but I'm not sure about the rain test unless you just hunker down in it. I don't think I like the way the fly opens up exposing the screen fabric of the main entry that's at an angle and the rain will fall directly on it by opening the fly from that side point. Most tents I've seen would open from the front of the fly splitting it from the tie downs which would give you a little more porch area to block some rain when you get in or out. Didn't look to be any ventilation either other than the ground gaps from the fly. It'll be interesting to see your rain testing.

Luke, let me start me saying, I love your videos and use them fairly regularly to determine the gear that I buy. I would like to ask you if you could review the Haven Tent Hammock. I've been looking at this item for a while, and seen some reviews on it, but would like to get your opinion. If you can review it awesome! If not I understand, you're a busy guy.

Awesome that you got it for 90$. On the German Jack Wolfskin website it is listed for 189.95€ (including taxes), so definitely more expensive than what you had to pay. ;)

I'll reserve judgement until we see the test nightt episode..many others claimed to be waterproof, and your testing showed otherwise...I'm mainly interested in condensation, as I didn't notice a lot of venting..

If it densest leak it looks like a good shelter. It doesn't have dual entry doors but it no big deal.

If you leave it attached to the Velcro you can keep it dry during set up in bad weather

Interesting, i am needing a tent for my grandkids but this might be to much for them to setup alone. I will wait to see how it holds up to the elements first. Luke would this be a good first tent you think or should i keep it more simple for a 6,7,8 year old

Poles can be hard to thread through sleeves on larger tents, but might not be so bad on smaller tents.
