Last time I went camping in the forest somebody had conveniently set up a Bushcraft latrine. There was even toilet paper inside of a coffee can to keep it waterproof. I was sitting there doing my business thinking how wonderful that this person left it there for everybody to use. Then I noticed the trail camera.

I have this tent. Used it twice. This weekend i set it up in the rain had zero problems. I left it out in pouring rain yesterday and had no problems. Currently drying it out. So far its a great tent. Looking forward to Luke's opinions.

Bought and used this tent in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Got hit with a severe rain storm. This tent worked flawlessly. Setting it up was quick and easy.

I got this tent after your first look video,so far it’s been absolutely fantastic and endured a heavy downpour with no issues,I’m happy with the weight as it’s a palace for one person and for me it’s worth the weight if you need space & comfort.

I was sent this tent to test as well and mine didn't leak either. I had it set up in my front yard that faces the water and it endured a Nor'easter , 2 nasty t-storms and rain/ rain + wind just about every other day while staying bone dry inside. However, if it leaks on even 1 person, that's unacceptable and OneT needs to look into a possible design flaw in the vents. That's why testing gear and giving honest reviews is so important! This channel was one of my inspirations to start my own channel for testing and reviewing gear. I'm not nearly as big as TOGR, but do honest reviews non the less and just started partnerships to test and review with OneTigris, Bigfoot Bushcraft and Hemlock Mountain Outdoors. Gotta start somewhere right?

The biggest weaknesses I see with the "American style" double wall tents is that a "tent body first" setup means the inside of your tent will be soaked if you have to pitch in the rain and the bathtub floor will ensure that it stays there. It's swell if it keeps rain out once it's pitched, but stinks when you're starting out wet before the fly ever goes on. The "European style" lets you pitch the fly first and set up the tent body in the dry.

I wasn't aware that putting the tent body first is called american style. The Snugpak Ionosphere is a britsh tent - btw. it sux to put it up if rain is pouring down. Imho i also think that putting the raincover first or both, is in rainy condition the best solution.

@@slawomirjesiolowski1609 The Ionosphere is more of a bivy than a tent. Look at their other tents that have fly first options. That being said, "American style" isn't gospel. It's just the predominant style sold in the US. Most of the free standing double walled tents sold in America require the tent body to be pitched to support the fly.

Thank you for sharing detail setup process for a tent that was inspiring for me. Recently, I bought Coleman 2p pop-up tent. It takes about 2-3 seconds to setup because I feel frustrated setting up traditional tent. After watching this video, I think I got confidence to go back old school. Thank you.

I like the way the fly is held away from the tent body. I like the large amount of no-see-um netting. I like the fabric 'ears' low on the tent, on either side of the door as breeze blockers.

looking forward to the rain review. I let my buddy use my brand new one in June while in NY for two weeks. He enjoyed it so much he kept it and ordered a new one from the company for me. Two and half weeks later from Japan it arrived.

Looks like an all-around quality, well thought-out design tent. absolutely love the color! And top pole sleeves! I wonder can it stand up to the Hawaii Jungle in terms of ventilation condensation and most importantly torrential rain. Lol can't wait for the verdict

Great reviews! Keep up the good work! You should review the OneTigris Tigers Den baker style tent, not your usual style tent but would be cool for family/group camping. Been really curious about OneTigris and so far they look to be decent quality.

I've not owned one of their tents yet, but everything else I've bought from OneTirgis is top quality awesome. I'd be stunned if this tent doesn't meet the same standards I've come to appreciate from this company.

I Got The Tent a few months ago used it once so far, easy set up, the only thing I dont care for is the zippers, it's has 3 zippers on each side and where they come together is a easy spot for bugs to come in, I didn't have come in, we didn't any bug around at the time, I'm looking forward to using it up in the mountains of Montana soon,

In NC as well, Luke. Ordered the tent & it finally came this past week. Set it up and waited for rain to check waterproofness b4 I hit the trails. Got my answer when the storms came through earlier this week. The answer: there was some minor leakage from both the closed vents. There are layers of fabric and bug net as well as the vent support right at the leak points & it’s all stitched. One Tigris may need to rework the rain fly. It’s a manufacturing flaw that can easily be fixed. Love the tent otherwise! Curious what your OGR’s testing reveals. Strength & honor.

Lol i never use those velcro straps under the rain fly. That attach to the poles. Idk why, but, i always forget them and i dont think there needed. Idk lol

I'm anxious about the rain test. Had my eye on a MSR but yours leaked and another UKpostsr had major pole issues. Real bad . I had similar pole issues with my Eureka tent.

This tent will not leak. Perfect design. As long as the persons inside dont come in contact with the outer layer rain water will shed along the sides no problem.

I actually have two of these tents,after purchasing the first one & using it several times & having no issues whatsoever regarding standing up to strong winds with ease,great ventilation etc I went and ordered another just in case they become difficult to get hold of in the future on the off chance anything untoward might happen to my original one..in my opinion it's a cracking tent,it really is a genuine 2 person tent unlike 99% that say they are..it's not the lightest tent but it's worth carrying the extra weight in my opinion for the room & the knowledge that this tent is made to a high standard,it's not a 4 season tent due to the mesh inner but for 3 season use & the cost of this tent it makes it a great option in my opinion 🏕️

Great video. What are you using for a ground sheet under the tent? I like to use a ground sheet and usually use a tarp but the tarp weight can be an issue.

This arrived last week and I set it up in my living room (it filled most of the living room). Very easy to set up but I have a question. I'm confused by the guy lines. Where do they go? When do you use them? How do you install them in combination with the tent stakes? I'm assuming they go with the fly. That brings me to my only complaint. No instructions anywhere for newbies. I realize many tents are built like this but this is the first time I've set up this style of tent. If it wasn't for your videos, I, and I think a few others would have missed a few steps and features. Thank you for creating these videos in such detail for us newbies. Thank you!

I like it but am skeptical of the two pole design in strong winds. But of course that depends on the guy out points if any. The clips used for the set up are the same on my Sierra designs 4 season tent worthy of alpine use. My old two pole designed tent had the door on the narrow end so this would be an improvement as all tents should have side entry so to speak. It looks cool.

Constructive Criticism: The ground sheet will keep your tent dry if it is set up correctly. I see the same mistake in setting up tents from many new campers. That is, letting the ground sheet stick out from under the tent. When the ground sheet sticks out from under the tent, it becomes a collector of water funneling it under the tent. The ground sheet needs to be rolled up and tucked under the tent so none of it is sticking out. The setup shown @4:44 will have all the water shedding off the left side of the tent funneled under the tent to be trapped and pool between the tent body and plastic ground sheet, with no where to go. Taking the time to tuck the loose bit under will direct the water to the ground to soak in. If any water at this point flows under the tent, it will be in contact with the ground and you will have the tent floor and the ground sheet keeping you dry. I appreciate what you are doing, but please take the extra time to show and explain, best practices and roll the excess ground cloth up and under the tent. Even in a high-end tent setting up the way it was done here would lead to water under the tent and seeping up through the tent floor. Thank you for your consideration of this point.

I bought a 35 dollar tent once and it was amazingly waterproof the first 2 times I used it. But after that not at all. So the real test is its ability to repel water after the 15th time you used it.

For a lower cost tent, they have velcro loops for the fly... my expensive Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel does not include velcro loops

Luke, how do you feel about the velcro fly attachments? I've always found them kinda chinsy and annoying, and after a few years, the strips become inflexible. Would plastic clips be a better solution? Thx for all the great content, I have a property a couple dozen miles West of you in TN.
