Here’s a first look at a budget tent I bought from Temu! I think for the price this is a decent option for anyone looking to start wild camping. Thought probably won’t stand up to a storm or gale force winds, it would be a great starter tent for at least your first few overnighters.
Let me know what you think!

I picked up a Decathalon Quechua tent for $20 before Christmas and gave it a 4 day rain test while I stayed all comfy and dry in my car tent. Checked it several times and all dry-even after heavy showers with some blustery wind. Cheap doesn’t always mean total crap. Sure, it won’t last for years, but that’s ok. It’s for my grandkids to get started and I know it ain’t gonna leak.

Great video. Looking for a tent like this and have been very impressed with things that I’ve already bought from Temu. Will definitely be considering this for backpacking and bikepacking (seems small enough to go across my handlebars). I actually prefer pitching the inner tent first so for those warm nights when you don”t need a fly (there’s not many I know!), you don’t have to use one. Certainly cheaper than some of the alternatives. 👍🏻

Not that I'm in a position to buy a tent anymore....now old and disabled (but still have FOUR tents I haven't used for a few years). As for Temu....I bought a long kaftan style dress. Blooming thing is huge. All I need to go with it are a couple of poles and some guy lines and I'm sorted. It's not stealth mind as it's bright red! 😆

A tent i really want to buy is the cardova hrand canyon 2 (green ans camo version) . Its a diamond shape (no vestibule) what really is handy for tall people. I had bought a secondhand diamons shaped tent, but it was not eaterproof anymore unfortunately. But the space ia great! Oh and subscribed to your channels, really like your down to earth style.

I've had the same small cheap tent for years. Moisture soaks through the bottom so I added a plastic sheet underneath. The poles sink into soft ground so I added flat feet to the bottom of them. In heavy prolonged rain the tent will leak, so I put a tarpaulin over the top, also making a nice porch...

I had an idea when you said it was underweight you are going to be missing something like a tent Peg. Now you know why it's underweight. I believe the measurements they are using is from the outside not the inside. Remember it's taller on the outside because of the two poles and the spacing. It looks like a pretty good little tent for being a cheapo. The first thing I would do is get some clear Flex Seal and coat that rainfly to make it waterproof. Because if you ever get in the rain in that thing the way it is oh, you're not going to like the outcome. But if you waterproof that rainfly correctly it should be a pretty workable little tent. I got one very similar to it from Walmart for about 20. It's not called a desert fox. But when you know the secrets of how to make them waterproof your biggest consideration after that is ventilation and you can leave the rainfly off if you're not expecting bad weather. And that's always a big win Also for the things holding the vents open, you can wrap duct tape around them a few times and it will stiffen it up. Grab the tape around it sideways and go from one end to the other back and forth make a couple of passes.

How does it perform in the rain? Looks like the rain will fall inside the doors when open, even with the porch open & supported with trekking poles or sticks. But who knows until tested. Many design features are similar to my NatureHike P-series (Professional) 3p tent, that I inadvertently got for free. There was some COVID delay, and AliExpress had their 45 day delivery guarantee, so I got a refund & purchased the Taiji 2 instead. 2 weeks later the tent showed up. Had it out for the first time, a few days ago, tho no rain. Inner isn't completely mesh, but that would lend to it's UPF 50+ claim, and how I was using it, as a Beach Sun shelter & protection from mosquitos at dusk 🌄

Like all if these things, final judgement would be after some testing in some testing conditions, but lets be honest, i bet it holds up as good as tents 10 times its price. I think its a perfect tent for someone maybe looking to get into wild camping but dont want to spend a fortune. The specs of 3000 hh for that price, plus two doors and free standing is an absolute bargain, providing it holds up in the rain. Pegs/guy lines are easily replaced for cheap. Canny tent for the money that Ben, i totally get the strangers looking when filming lol i just shout im doing a youtube vid and wave or thumbs up like a madman 😅 if you look for several hours through the tents ( as you do once in the Temu vortex) youll come across the naturehike cloud peak 2 for £119 or with the T zip for £149 quite a big saving, although they are starting to come down on Amazon no the 130 reviews a day have stopped 😅 keep them coming mate, enjoying these temu vids 👍👍👌

Putting inner up first is a problem when pitching in the rain as it'll get wet inside - shame as that's a great price for that little one man. Curious how it holds up in bad weather but at 3000hh hopefully keeps dry.

Generally for someone who is going to do their first spot of wild camping or even regular camping they will check the weather forecast and only go out on dry days and nights so this tent would be ideal for them. Nice and cheap so if they don't like been under nylon they haven't lost a chunk of money. Peace

No. The fluorescent is for seeing in the day. The reflective strips show ip at night under torchlight 🤷‍♂️ ‘just saying’ 🤣

Better off going to Argos for this price. Would be good to compare this tent to a top end tent from Temu.

Great review Daley, but you really must stop doing them. After your comment on the Night cat tent the other day and now seeing this I want 2 more tents 🤣

@@DaleyOutdoorsYeah, I'm a bit of a cheapskate because I have to be, but I only do summer camping so I think it'll be perfect. That's the same price I got my Vango soul 300 for a few years ago and that's been a great budget tent for me and my daughter. She'll be able to bring a friend along now so hopefully she'll keep enjoying getting outdoors for a couple more years. I really appreciate your videos and the fact that you reply to comments, it must be a lot of work! Thanks again. Paul
