This was a bunch of non working props used in order to scam tesla share holders into buying a useless company $3B+ in debt, to say his and his 2 cousins asses. He is currently being sued by tesla shareholders for these exact fraudulent claims in a class action worth billions of dollars.

True to some extent. If you were running a company you'd want to protect your business also so resistance is normal. I call it controlling the rate of change, not preventing it. But there is more to it than that. Distributed generation is needed to meet the federal requirement of "30 by 30" - 30% of production needs to come from renewables by 2030 or some number close to that. I don't have the specifics in front of me. Distributed generation helps bridge the gap between generation-sized production so it is a good thing. But with distributed generation there are problems with balancing - Bright sunny day and all of a sudden a massive storm blows across town cutting dist production by nearly 100% on the distribution side. How do you spin up X amount of power quickly? Turbines don't just all of a sudden spin up to pick up the imbalance on the grid. Modular sized generation, batteries, etc (to name a few) need to be in place before "everyone goes solar". Also most utilities don't have control over that power on those roofs and the utilities want that for, as stated above, balancing reasons. What the people want and what is technically feasible w/o raising consumer rates takes time. It will get there just not at the "new iphone every quarter" pace other industries have created. I also don't believe him in the cost. I just put a new roof on my house for $6K. That's 2800 sq ft of roof. He can't provide me front to back, left to right coverage of solar for $6K.

No, he said "we want it to... cost less" not that it WILL cost less. Maybe in the future when the technology is more available, but right now it's estimated to cost 70-80k, while only saving you 60k over its ENTIRE life time of 30 years. this is of course assuming you live in an area that provides enough sunlight at the right angle.

***** The initial costs are going to be MUCH stepper than you give it credit, and will take a LONG time to pay itself off. It's like buying a Prius. The pay is very long term. And this is all assuming you live in a place with a good angle with the sun, and get enough light a year for it to work (For example, a house in Portland Oregon ISN'T going to get much off of this). The long pay off is a dangerous game for people. Say that Prius of yours gets in a wreck, and you can't use it anymore. You just spent loads more than a normal car, and your risk didn't pay off. A normal roof, one that isn't these shingles that are only being used in very well off places, is always going to be a cheaper, here and now option with much lower risk.

The future is to use a battery system to remove your home from the grid it will happen. Your electric company paying you money (Net meter) to produce power 3-5 times the cost of their own generation is going to come to an end as they push back on those scheme's. Today's Grid tie systems are nothing more then subsidized by non solar customers and the power companies I do not want to buy into that system it won't last.

There has been $100B+ sunk into making solar shingle technologies going all the way back to 1977 and it has never worked. This whole presentation was to get tesla shareholders to buy one of Musk's other failing companies, by selling nonfunctional props. Tesla shareholders are currently sueing him for fraud over this exact presentation for Billions of dollars.
