Former FBI agent and body language expert Joe Navarro breaks down the intentional (and unintentional) non-verbals displayed by politicians. Why do some politicians point with their entire hand? What does it mean when politicians wave to a large crowd? How do Donald Trump and Joe Biden's non-verbals compare to each other?
Check out Joe's book "The Dictionary of Body Language"

I'd love to ask him about Autism. One, there have been police involved shootings and autistic people because autistic people engage with their environment differently than neurotypical individuals. Also, because some autistic people can't make eye contact, a police officer may think they are guilty. I'd love to know how the FBI agent and non-verbal expert would suggest we improve interactions between autistic individuals and police. And other than "don't get into situations where the police are needed." Life isn't that easy. A person doesn't stop being autistic the day they turn 18. Of course people shouldn't get themselves in bad situations. But as an autistic person, I care about this type of stuff.

i’ve watched a number of these people talk now about gestures and expressions. this guy is the only one i really believe knows what is talking about. he’s also very calming to listen to. (there was one story he told that while questioning a woman, she was very nervous and couldn’t sit still. so he asked her, “is there anything you want to tell me?” figuring it was important. she said, yes, i’m worried that i’ll. get a ticket cause i didn’t have enough change to put in the meter.”. :). absolutely nothing to do with the case at all! - this is very important knowledge, cause without it, her actions were very suspicious!! this man knows what he’s doing!!)

One important thing is that non verbal communication is a lot dependent on cultural aspects. One example for a book called something like "Gestures for a Globalized World" is what happened to Edward Deming in his first class of statistical analysis of product quality in Japan: Deming taught in school sports courts and in his first class he had a hard time because the Japanese would lean back and slightly close their eyes - in the west, a posture that communicates lack of interest. Later he found out that, in Japan, that gesture means strong interest and focus. So, not all gestures have universal meaning.
