Please Please PLEASE add a metal mesh guard around the cockpit. If one of those propeller blades break during flight it could absolutely take your life. Another UKpostsr tragically died in a self made helicopter when one of the rotor blades snapped off and struck him. Please be safe 🙏🏽

A netting system made out of the right material would be much lighter and still allow for airflow through the cockpit. All for being safe, but a metallic cage would be HEAVY

I honestly don't think we would be pursuing battery electric planes or helicopters as batteries add quite a bit of mass to any vehicle or transportation mode and the fact that, unfortunately, you still get better range from cars with internal combustion engine power.
@davec764111 днів тому
@@WJCTechyman You can't make multi rotor craft like this work reliably with gas engines. Their reaction time is too slow and synchronizing speeds is a major headache. Even if you could synchronize they drift too much over time. If you want to use gas the traditional single rotor helicopter is what you would have to use.

Excellent work so far! I’ve been working on my own project for a while. One thing you may want to consider in your design is the ground clearance of your propellers. With any roll or pitch during take off and landing you could potentially destroy your props. Something else to consider is your motor poles are mounted via 3d printed brackets on the interior of your frame. Maybe consider mounting them external of the frame so the frame can offer resistance and stability if the pole in case the brackets fail. I apologize if I sound critical just trying to be helpful to a fellow dreamer. 😊

Not an engineer. Not a pilot. But a thought. The folding brackets seem to be an extremely weak point. A carbon tube that would slide INSIDE the main tube (through the bracket point) could be used to add to that structural rigidity. Slide it in and out via a cable/spring/lever when needed or not.

3 Safety of flight suggestions: 1 Replace the motor pole hinges with a telescoping pole so you don't have to have a hinge on a major load bearing member. 2 Consider how much the aircraft can pitch and roll while it is near the ground. The propellers are not very high off the ground and their tips are very far out. That means that the aircraft can not roll or pitch very much or land on anything but perfectly level ground without a strike. 3 Add a BRS Parachute. Besides those critical issues, remember when the aircraft is flying forward the relative wind will be coming from the front and down, so I am worried the aerodynamic tail faring will act more like a parachute. Having two different color lights right next to each other on the same motor mounts will blend into 1 from a distance. PLLLEEEAAASSSEEE be safe and do lots of testing/peer reviews, follow industry standards and consult experienced experts in the aerospace industry

Great project. An issue I see with this design is the propellers hanging at the bottom. You definitely have to lift the cockpit off the ground to avoid a prop strike in cases where landing might be sideways.

Very very cool young man. The experiences you've had in just building it I'm sure you will never be able to put a value on. I"m sure your parents, teachers, school mates, college professors are all very proud of you and they should be. You keep going. I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm sure there are many other DIY's out there that have so far just dreamed of doing what you are doing. Applause applause applause.

I love the music! Not the usual junk. Thank you for making your car with class!

Those hinged arms for the motor pylons could actually be a disadvantage if they fail as they would send the rotors directly into the cockpit, chop, chop.

Guys are going hard with those 3d printers. I been watching these types of videos for a few weeks now, and this one takes the cake. Very impressive.

Somehow, the best part of this for me is seeing how happy the Dad is for you. So wholesome - he must be proud.

This is amazing. And think how you would have avoided that rear end collision if you could have just accended. 😅

Very interesting! It seems you put a lot of thought into the design. More people need to take the initiative that you have. Great workmanship! I like it, Awesome! Keep it up, I look forward to seeing the finished product, maybe we will get to see it in action.

I think we are wayyyyy past the point where it was hard to build a flying „car“. The problems we face today are to make it actually safe enough and if it gets to the point of mass production where it gets affordable for many, how to install traffic regulations 😄. But awesome work 👍🏻
