As a hardcore valve fanatic, I have to say: in “The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx” it was revealed there were nearly 20 cancelled games between development of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Half-Life: Alyx. One of which was intended to be a Minecraft killer.

Not one single "XYZ game "killer"" attempt has ever succeeded anyway, you're basically just setting yourself up to only be compared against an already well-established franchise, alienating yourself from a potential fan base and preventing your game from standing on its own merit

@@Infinity868 Big agree, I enjoyed Minecraft the most when it was in late Beta. The End feels forced as hell, the appeal of the game was to explore the overworld and build a little house in every biome, not grind your way through some halfassed generic progression system. At least there's mods!
