It has been at least 10 years since this was filmed. Too bad we can't get an update about how long Cleo was able to survive.

With so much wrong in the world, I love watching animals survive and thrive. I wish this was true of all the humans that need love and care as well, but it is a start.

It is terrifying to think that there's no preventative we can give our pups for this. They can get this from just sniffing about like dogs do. Sweet Cleo.

Tears. So glad the treatment worked. In the Midwest of USA, there is a fungus blastomycosis. In the damp, sunny areas of marshes. Hunting dogs usually get it. Males have a very poor rate of survival, females do a bit better. My brother's male English pointer succumbed to it. My friend's female toy poodle survived, and a male human who caught it that lived on her street survived.

Yes, a friends dog caught this here in Texas. She received treatment & lived to an old age.

THE SITUATION WITH CLEO IS SO EXTREMELY SCARY . THE OPTIONS EXTRA PILLS THE INTRAVENOUS TREATMENT, OPERATION/PUT TO SLEEP WOULD ALSO BE OPTIONS. I AM SO HAPPY +PROUD OF THE OWNERS THAT THEY PICKED THE PILL OPTION. THE OWNERS REALLY DID A GOOD DEED (MITZVAH) TO GO TO ALL EXTENTS TO SAVE CLEO IN SPITE OF ALL THE RISKS INVOLVED. .

Not to be rude, but how can you wait for weeks with a new onset of symptoms? If this dog means everything, then why did it take so long to get her seen? Use this as a cautionary tale and when you see something weird in your beloved pet, deal with it right away

could be that they dont understand what it is and they think its something not serious or just like a generic "cold" that'll get better on its own, or they probably dont have the money for treatment and all the 50 million tests that may need to be done
