Definitely filled me with confidence to tackle this myself when it comes time to replace the pump again on my car.

What about the inner gaskets of the water pump? Mine were smashed up and barely hanging on. You didn’t mention it. There is one on the inlet and outlet to the engine. I’m only asking as I’m replacing the water pump on a 2006 IS350 and when I was cleaning they were right there. Any info is appreciated.

Did you flush the antifreeze and what is the best way to bleed air out?
@RodriguezRepairsРік тому
the best way to let the air bleed out is to use a coolant funnel set, it contains the fitting for the radiator and you can put a funnel over it. The weight of the coolant is going to bleed the air out, you let the vehicle run about 15 with the funnel on, then remove it and install radiator cap. After making sure the fans are operating at the correct temperature, turn the car off, let is cool down, then add coolant in case you still need any
@toyotatundra0455Рік тому
@@RodriguezRepairs Thank you. It took a while to remove all the bolts and nuts. It's done. I'll add the pink coolant. This video is a money saver.
@NewBeginningNewCreationРік тому
What do you do with the coolant that is still in the funnel after burping??
@RodriguezRepairsРік тому
you use the stopper and put it in the funnel to stop the coolant from falling all over the place, then you drain it in a container and store it
@NewBeginningNewCreationРік тому
@@RodriguezRepairs oh OK thanks I've never used one of those
@NewBeginningNewCreationРік тому
@@RodriguezRepairs just finished up changing my water pump your video was extremely helpful.
@808G8GTРік тому
I personally would have drained the coolant from the radiator drain and the engine block drain before pulling the hoses off. Would have been far less messy and less coolant smell when you finish the job and start the car.
@RodriguezRepairsРік тому
yes, thats a great alternative!
@jeffumbachРік тому
Same thought and I think I would remove the undercover so any spillage goes right down into a catch basin instead of getting the foam on the topside of the undercover all wet. Plus if you drop a socket or bolt it most likely will land on the floor instead of getting lost in in the engine bay and making you need to remove the undercover anyway.
@frankradcliff660Рік тому
Yes buy have you ever had the petcock fail? Happened twice to me. I stopped doing that.
@benztech5075Місяць тому
why not draining the rad at the bottom so you don't splash all connectors?
@RodriguezRepairsМісяць тому
Yes, that is a great option 👍🏼
@onedrop60112 місяці тому
How did you remove the belt
@RodriguezRepairsМісяць тому
via the serpentine belt tensioner, relief the tension using a socket on the pulley and then the belt should come lose!

What kind of brush is it?
@RodriguezRepairs2 роки тому
is the 1 inch Bristle Disc, 50 grit

I really want to do this by myself but i know im going to fuck up😭 but i don’t want to pay $1000 at the dealer or any shop
@tarasmiddleton5 місяців тому
I want to know how long it took him to do this
@RonDaG0at5 місяців тому
@@tarasmiddletonprobably 2 hours because the video is almost 30 min long. Plus taking out the parts one by one, plugging and unplugging tubes. Cleaning the screws and then trying to figure what goes back in. Seems kinda difficult but i feel like if people who knows and understand this.. it’ll take them like an hour👌🏼
