The one thing I was told by my trainer a few years ago was "Consistency over intensity" and it was her telling me a 30 minute walk at 2.0 mph is better than nothing. So even on the days I don't want to push myself I just make a deal, I'll walk for 10 minutes, and then I can be done. Usually before the 10 mins is up I'm in the mindset and I want to do my full workout. It has helped me so much to realize SOME movement is better than nothing. And some days after those 10 mins I just stop because I mentally can't go on. But I did what I said I would and thats fine.

@@randomaf6338 that’s so well said, thank you for sharing ❤️ I often struggle to keep fitness related promises to myself because I make it so intense and complex for myself to implement. Keeping it simple and easy + proving to myself that I can show up and do it sounds like the real goal here!

I love “consistency over intensity”! I’m really trying to reprogram my brain to believe it. I’ve always had a “all or nothing” mindset but it’s so hard to have a sustainable fitness routine going when you’re so hard on yourself when you’re not able to go all the way. I’ve just re-started going to the gym last week and I had to skip a few days cause of my period and I felt like such shit I wanted to quit altogether. My brain was like “if you didn’t go the gym for 3 days you have to quit this all together”. Thankfully I pushed myself to ignore the perfectionist inside me and ended up going anyway. Felt so good. I’ve decided to go for a 15 minute walk on days I’m unable to get to the gym. Gotta make it easy and sustainable. Thanks for sharing your journey ❤️

Yesssssss girl. It’s taken me YEARS to realise this. Even today for example, I literally could not bring myself to go outside & move but then I started feeling worthless “you can’t even keep a promise to yourself.” So I said okay Laura girl, go outside for TWENTY mins. An hour later, I came home from my walk feeling like a new woman!!

I'm 25, turning 26 in a couple weeks and the things that's been working for me is first off focusing on my mental health and changing my mindset. I'm not doing it to "lose weight" I'm doing it to feel good. I had to learn to love my body as she is BEFORE I tackled anything! I try to do pilates 4-5 days a week and I find it's best cause while it is intense in the moment after I'm done I don't feel like I need to reward myself because my body isn't overly tired which helps with my consistency. If one day I'm REALLY not feeling it I do yoga! Also I don't weigh myself. I don't care what the scale says if I like what I see and if I truly feel good it really doesn't matter to me Good luck I'm so excited to see how you progress 💖

I haven’t weighed myself in over a year. I have just focused on my progress in the gym, how I’m feeling, and how my clothes are fitting. I have had to learn life is about moderation, for me personally I cannot cut out food I love completely or else I binge on them eventually. It’s just learning about yourself and being honest with what works for you. I also remind myself that since it took years to put on, it’ll take years to take off and I have really found peace with that. I was aiming to change my life, not the next 6 months.

I love this for you Jaclyn, you are glowing. You were one of the people who motivated me to start my health and wellness journey. I started going to therapy in January, and started my weight loss journey end of May. I have suffered from extreme anxiety issues and binge eating problems. Changing your mindset and trying not to be hard on yourself is not easy. It took me a while, but since then I have lost 22 pounds by intermittent fasting, focusing on eating healthy, nutritious, clean food and exercising. I still have a long way ahead as I want to lose 40 more pounds. I love you and I hope you see my comment 😊❤

There is a nutritionist on UKposts (I am blanking on her name) that made a statement that really stood out to me. She said, It's not about what you should take away but about what you should add. For example: Want a bagel, have it, but what can you add to make it more satisfying/filling. Add fiber (greens), protein(eggs/meat), good fats(avocado) etc. I thought it was great advise.

I haven't had my hair done in years, stopped brushing my teeth as much as I should, fixing my nails, and literally haven't done anything to my house. No decorations, nothing new..putting off projects that would make me happy. I got extremely burnt out. But I have been working on my mental health and am doing so much better but I need to push harder. I want to feel 25! I want to feel better. I'm thankful for having a husband who loves me and encourages me..he still tells me everyday how much he loves me and that he thinks I'm beautiful 😥 What helps me the most is my faith in God. It pulled me out of deep su**idal depression and is my reason for trying. I have a life, I need to make the best of it. Some people will take their last breath today.

Honestly 2 things that have helped me tremendously. 1. Don’t restrict yourself too much. Don’t over indulge but also don’t restrict so much you’re craving 2. Allow yourself a “cheat day” or “day off” but never more than 2 days in a row. It’s a starting point to keep you going! I’m always motivated but never stick to it long term, these things have helped me stay focused without feeling like I’ve failed. Keep going!! Don’t give up. And just remember if it didn’t work, just try again. It’s ok to restart. It’s not a race everyone’s success happens at a different pace.

I wish I had some tips but in all honesty I’m in the same boat with some things you said. When I see another woman that weighs the same as me, same body type as me, etc I have no problem seeing how beautiful they are and wanting to hype them up. But with myself it just isn’t there. I recently went to a nutritionist so I’m excited to see how things go. You’re beautiful! 💕

Ugh girl, I feel everything you said SO SO HARD. I’m heavier than I’ve ever been (had a rough few years dealing with infertility which caused weight gain, but currently I’m 32 weeks pregnant) and I just got done telling my husband that I can’t wait to get back on track! I’m just not comfortable right now (I wasn’t prior to getting pregnant either) and I’m so excited to start feeling good! 💛 Can’t wait to see your journey!

Hey boo! Last summer i trained super hard and lost 20lbs. Then Winter hit and I caught Covid during Christmas. Depression decided to visit and all that weight came back smh Over the last month I’ve been slowly getting back to it. But this time with a different mindset. Being kind to myself has been a huge key in keeping me going. What you said about doing this to feel good is so true sis! When we nurture our bodies we heal our hearts. I’m on this journey with you boo! We got this! ❤️

When I first started eating healthier someone told me “if you eat like crap you’re going to feel like crap” I finally learned that lesson the hard way and now I have that mindset. Anytime I start to eat something that I know I shouldn’t I tell myself that and it helps detour me away from those unhealthy things. Please share your fiber smoothie in one of your next videos!!

Girl I’m with you!! I got married a year ago and felt so amazing around that time but I really fell off the wagon after that. Honeymoon combined with vacation at Christmas, working from home etc etc and being so happy I just gained weight and felt like garbage. I recently got off the pill too and my hormones are so outta whack. Finally started spinning again after three years so I am going on this journey with you! I’m also a total foodie but I’ll find ways to make the bomb food with a healthy spin. So happy and proud of you!

At 22 I found myself having a very bad relationship with food I was 200lb when all my life I was never over 150lb. I dropped 40lb and I thought there’s no way I am gaining it back. Now I am 24 and weight 210lb. My anxiety has contributed with me always finding comfort in food. It’s something that I have been working on for a long time. My doctor recently told me that I was pre diabetic and there was still time to improve my health before it got out of hand. I am 24 now and I feel like I put my body through hell, I have plans in hopefully becoming a mom soon and now more than ever I want look and feel my best. The first time around I would get 8-10 hours of sleep every night if possible and that helped me loss weight quicker.

Maybe talking to someone about your relationship with food and your anxiety would be good :) Learning about how people use food when we are bored, sad, stressed etc. For me that helps me think about what I actually need. I need nutrition and I need to take care of my mental health in different ways 😊 and food is still something to enjoy 😊 I'm not a nutrionist, dietitian or a doctor etc ✌🏻

I love this whole Jaclyn’s journey; feel like it’s the most relatable I’ve felt with a influencer. Always struggled with my weight and my journey to loose weight; for the life of me could not seem to shed a pound; in fact I’m still the same weight when I first began years ago; and I’ve come to realize a lot of my journey was my mental health. Was brought up thinking I needed to be rail thin like the models in the 90s and that the smaller you were the more beautiful you are and it took a lot to realize the scale belongs in the trash; and at my age I have a woman’s body; no longer a child. Still try to keep toned but changing my mental health about my physical appearance was the biggest help I could have given myself.

You got this Jac!! My “thing” is my protein smoothie that I have every morning, I feel off balance if I don’t have it. I was struggling with regular constipation and have not since I’ve introduced this smoothie. It’s coconut water, berries, vanilla yoplait light and fit yogurt, spirulina powder, kale and spinach, chia seeds, and Isopure 0 carb protein powder. I get the unflavored one so I can make it taste like whatever I want. It’s literally 2 ingredients and 25g protein, you can get it on Amazon. Altogether this smoothie has about 40g of protein! Keeps me full for hours and helps me hit my protein goal which is crucial when you’re lifting weights. Let me know if you try it :)

I started my fitness journey when I was 225 pounds and now I’m at 177 pounds. It’s taking a lot of physical work but also a lot of mental and emotional growth for me to understand that I’m never going to look like fitness models in magazines And that I’m beautiful just how I am. Since I was a kid I would always hear other women put other people down and comment about their clothes and weight and even had my own family discuss my weight and it was always in the negative light. It really had an emotional toll on me being brought down by my own family and how I looked. I’ve always been the type of girl to praise other women and appreciate how they look and I am the same way they could be eight sizes bigger than me and I think they’re the most beautiful women but when I look in the mirror I don’t see that. I think a lot of that has come from me believing people closest in my life and what they’re saying about who I am as a person on the outside. During these past eight months losing weight I’ve really had to alter the way that I think about myself and understand that not only am I beautiful but my soul is also beautiful because I don’t ever put women down and I don’t ever nitpick how they look because at the end of the day I believe everyone is beautiful in their own way. And you can be the prettiest girl in the room with the ugliest character at the end of the day that doesn’t make you the prettiest girl it’s what’s on the inside that counts and how you treat people and how you respect them that matters. No one talks about mother Theresa‘s looks or how she dressed they talked about how she was as a person and what she did for people and how she helped them and if we can all focus on loving other people and accepting them for who they are we would have a lot less mental health issues in women and how they view themselves. So at the end of the day your fitness journey should start with altering your mental and emotional reflection on yourself. I hope that you can learn to see yourself as beautiful just like most of us believe about you but also remember that you’re one of those women that should be encourage and lift it up in your own eyes. Surround yourself with people who will always encourage you and tell you how beautiful you are because what other people say about you has a really big impact on how you feel so try not to listen to people who can cast of negative light on the reflection of yourself

Truth is this, I really Thank You and truly appreciate that video bc it’s helped me on my journey. I love the idea of making sacrifices to stay on track. The way you put it as "I will stay home by myself and take care of myself" is a really good way to put it. That has been my downfall with so many things when trying to stay on track with eating and not drinking as much alcohol. I always feel like "well I can't hurt my friend's feelings and not go to her/his event!". But when there is some kind of event or celebration EVERY weekend, it makes it impossible to stay on track and at some point, I just need to stop worrying about everyone else and start taking care of myself and setting healthy boundaries.
