If you don't have basic strength in handstand push ups, you probably won't be able to do it. I personally can do a back to wall handstand push up and I can hold the tuck planche for 10+ seconds. Get strong at the handstand push up and the tuck planche is guranteed.

Nah Tuck PL hard. PL in general is a very hard move 😂 If you think about it, gymnasts start training Planche when they are 6 years old and they have years and years and years to condition their body for it. We all want it as quick as possible which is pretty unrealistic.

@derekchen5749
@derekchen5749 2 роки тому
@@GeekClimber Yeah around that period sounds reasonable. But you also have to take into consideration starting strength, height/weight distribution, etc. A lot of people who can achieve the planche in a year or so likely already have strong delts/pushing base and can do HSPU, weighted dips, etc already. Though I'm not very experienced with the Planche, I would say the best approach would be to not rush it, since risk of injury with the planche is much higher than the front lever. And it'd be awesome if you keep posting intermittent videos throughout the journey to share what you've learned with all of us aspiring planchers!
@snefansson

"Don't be not strong" top advice right there Regarding hyperflexible elbows. I remember I've seen somewhere that pro gymnasts really want to have it since it lets them "rest" on the bone structure and therefore use less energy while being static in some positions like the iron cross and stuff. So maybe not a "defect" like you said:) Edit: I'm currently in a real slump in my training due to mental health garbage, your videos really inspire since you start from 0 everytime and really show your struggle. I'm gonna give this one a go, thanks for inspiring man!
@millacabral9475
@millacabral9475 2 роки тому
Yeah, slightly hyperflexible elbows are good if you train the stabilizers and increase volume and intensity slowly, because it really lets you relax more on the form since it takes more energy to bend them than to keep them straight. You just gotta be careful to not jump progressions too quickly if your biceps and other muscle tendons in that area aren't ready for that load yet.
@millacabral9475
@millacabral9475 2 роки тому
Be careful with planche training if you've had wrist or elbow problems in the past, whenever I try training it more consistently I tend to slightly overdo it and have tendonitis for a few weeks 😓
@Jeff_123
@Jeff_123 2 роки тому
Not really as a person who has hypermobile elbows, planche with hypermobile is way more difficult than planche with 180° elbows as personally it throws me off balance.
@orix-cs8715
@orix-cs8715 2 роки тому
@@millacabral9475 @snefansson yeah definitely need to take planche training slow. Your tendons take a lot longer to adapt than your muscles so make sure that you aren't rushing your progress and don't be discouraged when it takes longer than you were expecting. Good luck!

@@derekchen5749 But it says in the title road to full planche? And bent arm pushing is definitely imperative for full and straddle planche. Because going forward training calisthenics is not going to be fun. I understand that most people nowadays are close minded and think they know everything. @jeansanmanmatharajah7784 2 роки тому
@@BlackiJ11 what helped me to achieve my straddle was that I started my tuck planch with an explosive start and ensure to lean my arms forward while keeping them straight. Of course you also need to ensure your hips are perfectly aligned with your body. Once all done. You can move your legs out in both direction as if you were doing a split and then gradually move your legs upwards to achieve straddle planche. And to get to full planche you have to close the gap between your legs (sounds easy but it's really hard)

Tip 1: you can warm up for the planche progressions with some scapula push ups (you protract and retract your shoulder blades with control while in a push up position. Tip 2: it is easier for me and most people to hold a tuck planche on parallettes, because you can squeeze and control the angle of your pushing a but better. Tip 3: you should really train some easier versions of the pseudo planche push up, or just push ups with the hands turned out and protruding the scapulas at the top of each rep. It increases your overall push strength and prepares your body for the harder planche exercises and progressions. You need a lot of chest strength for planche, and one of the easiest ways to train that is doing slow controlled push ups in a shoulder width grip. Too narrow and you risk "falling" into your arms and not really using your chest enough, and too wide can feel awkward. Good luck dude! Also, for raising the hips, a great exercise is TRX tuck ins or using socks on a slick floor or elevated surface to slide your feet in and out. The "hypers" (face down leg raises?) also help a lot.

This is so inspiring. Lately i havent been as motivated because it feels like the pros have it to easy and learn full planche so fast. I thought i had it bad but when i think about it the first time i tried a tuck planche i did 8 seconds. I am grateful for my strength. I have no excuses time to train hard.

Literally the best video about tucked planche! I've tried so many times before, I've watched all these experts, but only after watching this video I was able to do it! The reason - i was afraid to lean forward enough and correct scapula protraction.

Im 41, and really got into more yoga, bodyweight workouts over the last year or so. Things like DDP Yoga and channels like Strength Side really get me interested into things like tuck planche, and general bodyweight stuff that looks cool, with the practice. Ive had hyperextensive elbows- and knees all my life and had not considered the other possibilities and methods to work around that in fear of injury. So well done on your journey with this! I am gonna work on this more at home and again, this video has been a cool motivator. Thanks!
