Games are usually optimized relative to the performance of consoles. I wouldn't worry about it until the next consoles come out.

The 5050 with 8gb of Ddr7 is probably like 4060super if it ever released, probably the new 300-350$ card. The 5060 is what I'm aiming for, unless Amd 8600 comes in clutch with the Zuda-cores. The real Dark horse is Intel which are focusing on lower entry level cards. 2 things will convince me to go intel, 1. Fixing the inconsistent fps across different games(yes i know there are the new kid on the block) 2. Power efficiency, 225w is crazy for something that can barely matches the 4060 OC or rx7600.

@@godusopp3919 you tweaking if you think so, turn up texture detail on any AA/AAA game post 2019 at 1440p+ and you'll see 13+gb usage. Im playin Control(2019) rn on my 7800xt at 1440p max (no RT mind you, that'll take even more vram) and its exceeding 11gigs already and reaching 12 in heavy scenes

@@godusopp3919 that's not true though. 12bg is causing problems for 1440p even now and 16 is a little short for 4k too. the 5000 will come in a year, so if 16 is cutting it close right now, especially if you wanna activate rt, pt and all that jazz, what do you think will happen when they release. many games are also coming in ue5 now and are usually super unoptimized too, making the games even more demanding. 16bg right now is the safe minimum for 1440p and the 5080 will be a future card for 4k. the only reason nvidia makes those cards 16bg is to force you to go for the 5090

I think its funny. nobody bought high end AMD cards so AMD won't make them anymore. No competition means they will charge whatever they want your look at $3000 for the highest end 5090 all day long. which means the 5080 will be $1600+ the 5070 will be over $1000+ teh 5060 will be $600+. that is the breaks my 7900xt will be good for along time

The more expensive version you get the more money you loose on resell. Diminishing returns, just like extra options when buing a car. But don't buy the cheapest one either, it has a higher possibility of failure.

@@justmatt2655 currently for gaming, sure. but that's not the only thing people will be doing with these GPUs. Also, when they start putting actual Ai characters in games, you're need a LOT of vram for that.

Probably 1000watt+ at the very least. Depends on your cpu but maybe 1200 watt to be safe

I don't know if Nvidia cares enough about it at the moment, they have a lot of long-term plans and they don't really need to spend time on developing a new hardware sector. They might go for it in a decade or so.
