I only started knitting four years ago at the age of 62 and I wish I had started years and years earlier as I love it so much. I enjoy doing things 'properly' and not winging it. There's so much to learn in knitting if you attend to all the details. You've helped enormously with your expertise and excellent teaching methods. There are many people on here to 'teach' knitting but it's so good to find a reliable teacher who has real mastery. So I thank you very much for the guidance from my heart, it's invaluable to me and enables me to get past some tricky bits in my knitting and continue rather than give up. I am feeling more comfortable with my knitting now and I must also say I find it an essential help to sooth my sometimes jaddedy mental health.

I have watched a number of tutorials when I have needed help with my knitted projects. I just happened upon you, Suzanne, the other day. I just had to leave a comment complementing you on not only your thoroughness of instruction but the extra tidbits of knowledge you impart before you actually start your demonstration and during your demonstration. For example starting the seaming with that "figure eight" and of course your "dreaded elevens"! No one who watches and hears that phrase will ever forget how to seam bound off edges!

Very helpful been knitting for years and I think I always did the dreaded elevens. Can’t wait to try this method. You are a very good teacher thank you.

Thank you so much for your video. It was so easy to follow, & you are so patient with your explanations. I will save this for my next sweater. On my current finished sweater, a summer "tee," the top third of the sweater is done in Seed Stitch. So, I can't do this method of sewing up right now. I have searched for so long, trying to find a video on how to sew up something done in Seed Stitch, but no luck. One person suggested next time that I do an extra row in all knit stitches, just before binding off, so that I can do this type of sewing up. I don't know if there is an exact method of sewing up on a Seed Stitch top, & I may have to do it the way my grandmother taught me, decades ago. They were not the more modern, neater methods, but they did the trick. 🧶🪡🪢 Thank you. 😃

Thank you for another great tutorial! If you are free to do another seaming tutorial, I hope you can do one to teach seaming pockets (patch pockets) to the main body. I love patch pockets on sweater, but find it harder than normal seaming to achieve a neat look.

This is an excellent video. Whenever I need knitting help (which is a lot of the time), I always go to you first. I love watching your knitting videos. I am seaming the shoulders of a vest for my 2yo grandson. The back shoulder has more stitches than the front shoulder. That is how the pattern is. Will you please advise on how I should deal with this? Being a perfectionist, this has been a nightmare for me. I finished everything but the seams in January 2022. It was supposed to be his birthday present in May. It is now September 2022, and still not finished (I put it away for 8 months because there was another issue with it that I didn't know how to deal with).

I come back to this video time and time again. I'm making a baby sweater that has a picked up band down one side, around the back, and up the other side. The instructions are unclear. Should you normally sew the sleeves in first, then sew side seams and sleeve seams. I'm assuming I should sew the band around last?

Have you ever ripped out those cast off rows, put them back on the needles and repeat this process (similar to grafting the toes on socks) so you don’t have a visible seam at all on the underside? I tried this once and loved the end result so much, I will never go back to seaming again. If only I had a similar technique for joining sleeves. (Horizontal vs. Vertical).

Hi Suzanne, I would greatly appreciate it if you could demonstrate mattress stitch for cast on edge to cast on edge. I may be completely overthinking it but the stitch direction is opposite from bind off to bind off. With Cast on to cast on, the direction of the stitches are pointing away from each other, whereas bind off to bind off the stitch direction is pointing towards each other. I don’t know if this makes a difference, but I want to make sure I seam the best way possible to avoid dreaded 11’s lol. Thank you!

Please demonstrate seaming stitches to stitches when it seed stitch. I'm need your assistance!
