The 5nm Snapdragon 888 is 25% faster thanks to the Cortex-X1 in the Kryo 680 CPU, has 35% faster graphics thanks to the Adreno 660, and includes loads of interesting camera enhancements thanks to the new triple Spectra 580 ISP.

As an A14 owner , i think the A14 is pretty good , but saying that , for a lot of the time it( the Iphone A14 ) imo just does not feel that fast compared to some current android phones in daily life due to apples hardware choices, I do suspect this new snapdragon is going to wipe the floor with the iphones A14 across the board , and this is good , competition in hardware ...... we all win ;) .

Due to the fact that those small cores have way less logic in them than the bigger cores, I think there is only so much that can change really... I think they will know what makes sense... For example if last year processors was at a specific speed while using 5W of power Would that mean that the SD888 is 135% the speed of SD865 while using 3.75W of power? Or you can use it with the same speed of the SD865 while using 3.75W of power or 135% the speed of SD865 while using 5W of power? What’s a shame is that the innovations that require developers to adapt their apps, will mostly never happen. Because it will be a change for one SoC, that's far from the most popular... not only are mid ranges more popular, but the most popular flagship ships with exynos CPU in most countries. Also, even the stuff that requires only the OEM to implement, like the ML based camera system, probably most will just continue with what they have if it's good enough. Time over time we see OEMs not taking full advantage and optimizing their phones.

@@amashaziz2212 Transistor density almost doubles as the node area decreases as I mentioned above, 5nm is almost twice as dense as 7nm node . Now taking in reference to tsmc they said they had 15% increase in performance per transistor or 30% more energy efficient for same performance. Now think this in a real scenerio, let me say all 4 performance cores in SD 888 be designed around that 15% increase in performance whereas the latter 4 efficiency cores be designed around those 30% efficiency for the same performance, All cores will never be fully utilized at the same time, you can get higher performance while on more computing based tasks whereas higher efficiency in less computing based tasks, + take in mind the architecture, the transistor density is being significantly increased (ideally 2x as I mentioned) it gives manufacturers the options to make smaller die sizes which are more efficient than larger die sizes, since current have shorter path to travel, but they have higher thermal concentration due to components being closer, Qualcomm can squeeze out that extra efficiency there or can increase there transistor amount for more performance, there are other multiple things, like how much A78 cores are improved over A77 cores in terms of IPC, how much energy X1 consumes, how big is the memory pipeline which are all taken care by ARM and are out of the hands of Qualcomm, only thing that can be confirmed now is that 4 x A55 core will lie between the 30% more efficient - 15% more performance range since it will be basically the same architecture on smaller node. Btw, its a Samsung 5nm node I think in SD 888.

Linux already used multiple os's on one device. and on oneother os. there is also the linux block thing. it seems more like a software than hardware thing. but is the cost known. it would also be great to see something like lora in such chips, since it is more usefull and relyable for communication than 5g. only problem with lora is that you can not as easly use it as a high detail area or object scanner. where that is easy with 5g which allows to capture details smaller than 1mm.
