They gave her lithium which is a hard core mood stabilizer that isn't widely used for daily mood management but more for emergency situations like if a person is endangering themselves or others. I fully believe her father said or gave her therapist something to influence that prescription in order to keep her quiet.

Lady Gaga even broke her hip which triggered and intensed her fibromyalgia in 2013 which she's still suffering today. Touring is a VERY, VERY hard thing to do, so its a miracle Britney is even still alive today. She's so strong.

Conservatorship, itself, is generally used for elderly people with money. So they're not allowing themselves to be scammed, stolen from, etc. It allows them to be provided for... But then the conservatorship can take thousands of dollars, for management fees. The major problem is that there is almost no regulation, in most states, to keep conservators in check. To make sure their fees are reasonable, and that they're not abusing the people under their care (financially, physically, mentally, or even neglecting them). Some conservators have been found with HUNDREDS of conservatees in their care, and that's just ridiculous. And they can bill for every moment of their time, they can be required to rent vehicles for day trips, they can upcharge for everything the conservatee requests or needs. There needs to be regulation. That's it. It's sometimes a necessary tool, but if it's unregulated, it's basically encouraging greedy people to abuse their power.

The past is in the past, and I can't blame the people who went to her shows before as she went through this because this wasn't even public information. I remember being really happy when she made a return and liked a lot of the songs she put out without even knowing what was going on behind the scenes in her life at the time. I wouldn't consider myself a fan of Brittany, but I did enjoy her music and thought of her as an incredibly talented and smart creator. I know I would have loved to see her in concert if I was able to as normally a big part of going to concerts is to show love and support to the artist you are seeing, and I'm gonna guess most people who went to them in the past thought they were supporting her too. I just hope she finds freedom and happiness. What she has gone through is horrifying and I could only imagine the stress and pain she has gone through because of this. I'm glad that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I doubt the judge who had the most to do with this travesty of justice, would see any jail time. The corrupt judge clearly took bribe. The nurses who went and observed Britney at home to make sure she was complying, the therapist who put her on lithium to make her more pliable...they all deserve to loose their licenses. But this isn’t a perfect world and therapists, nurses, and judges get away with crimes. Britney’s father and lawyers aren’t the only bad guys in this. They wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without the help of the therapist, the nurses, and the judge. I have seen first hand how patients are treated in mental ward when I was doing my clinical rotation. Once they diagnose you with any mental condition, even a lot of the nurses and therapists treat you as less than human.

And honestly to me she sounds like a totally sane person. She's grown and tbh I don't think she was ever at a point where it was really necessary to take away her literal rights. She just had up and downs like many of us people had. And her father treated her abusively since she was young - or at least that is what is to be expected from such dads. Her having a huge down-phase could have also been caused by... HIM. A thing he did or said to her, whatever. Having a healthy relationship with your parents as a kid and teen is so important and she did not have that. And she rightfully was and is broken because of that. Her abusive dad and silent family took it to another level though, I feel so bad for her.

The point is that Britney is not the only victim of an abusive conservatorship. Because she is famous, her situation is getting publicity and coverage. When Britney is free, we should not stop fighting for others who are trapped in a similar situation, but do not have access to the same resources.
