I was worried about drops but they come hand in hand with levelling up. I've found workouts up alp du zwift have helped me. Level up and earn drops. Hope this helps

I'm lvl 16 and have about 1.2 million drops, spent about 400.000 of them. Don't worry about drops

It's all in the detail. i.e. unless you have a GPLama-esque gaming rig you stand little chance of seeing any! It must make the cost of rendering and programming small componentry pretty pointless. Case in point - the Ceramicspeed OSPW was just about visible on iOS ...if you squinted and used your imagination.

@@pam00088 No way, I run Zwift on a 9 year old laptop and I can see it clear as day. Regardless of what OS you're running it on, you will notice it if the screen is of a normal size. But regardless that doesn't explain why they go to the lengths of animating and designing other much less apparent and permanent details but not the groupset.

It’s still one of the fastest. Just not as good as it was when they first released it.

The fastest climber at 2920s is the Aeroad 2021 with Lightweights, and the 2nd fastest on the flats with a time of 3027s is Aeroad 2021 with the Zipp858/Super9 wheel combo. OTOH, the latter combo is 24s slower at climbing while the former is 40s slower on the flats.

You can contact Canyon to exchange the bar/stem/cockpit size when you purchase your bike, just give them a call. Also, it's called Aeroad, not Aeroroad. One of the reasons Canyon is better value than most other bike brands is that they have a range of set ups for each given model and stock the parts for that amount of frames per model variant. This way they can order in bulk, but not have the downside of having huge stockpiles of parts in different sizes/different wheels etc. Keeping that in a building somewhere untill someone buys it costs money as well. If you're not happy with the options given, you can always just buy a frameset and get the parts seperately

Yeah they downgraded it slightly shortly after this video. Makes a mockery of spending drops on frames etc as you can work towards spending hard earned drops on something just to have them simply downgrades it when another manufacturer pays them more cash to be top dog. To most normal riders not racing the differences are so minimal anyway it probably doesn't matter much anyway.

It's reasonably close with a decent direct drive smart trainer but wind/air resistance is obviously missing and it always amazes me how many opportunities there are to rest outdoors versus the need to pedal almost constantly on the trainer. Oh, and physical movement on the bike is much restricted on a trainer which makes a huge difference to the upper body muscles you employ (or don't).

David If a bike is known to have specific losses, like drivetrain losses, due to design geometry, I suppose that could be coded into the simulation. Other than that, differences between bikes are mainly due to aerodynamics. If wind is not accounted for... sorry but I don’t see how this can be anything close, let alone reasonably. With that in mind, I see a great opportunity for Swift to make extra cash by selling “tuning parameters”. If a manufacturer were to pay a “sponsoring fee” their bikes could have an fudge factor coded in. 🤔

@@itsm3th3b33 Sorry, I thought you meant how does the experience of riding on Zwift correlate not how does frame/wheel performance correlate. Ignore my answer then! The irony is that most frames and wheelsets are developed using CFD and windtunnel testing so there will be a margin of error in the translation to real world performance. I'd guess that Zwift are transferring some characteristics from a manufacturers claimed performance figures leaving the actual, real world performance as incidental to the equation at best.

For anyone coming across this question in the years to come, when you upload a Zwift ride to Strava, it puts fast times that in no way, shape or form correlate to the times you would get in the real world. If you can ride 20mph outdoors, Zwift will put you down for 25mph. And it's not a power meter problem, I ride a Wahoo Kickr Bike with +/- 1% accuracy, and have both Garmin power meter pedals and stages dual sided power crank arm power meters for the outdoor bike. And for those that say, but wind, but whatever, their algorithm puts down embarrassingly fast times.

I was looking into this a couple of days ago, it could depend on how Zwift inputs a bikes frame weight. An Aeroad 2021 CFR Dura ace medium is 7.2 kg, without wheels tyres etc it weighs 5.4 kg. An Ultimate SLX Rim brake with identical Dura ace (other than brakes) weighs 5.0 without wheels. Dura ace disc weighs 450g more than rim. If Zwift don't factor in difference between disc and rim bike groups when inputting frame weight then the Aeroad would be around 50g lighter than the Ultimate, which is one of the previous fastest climbing frames. That, or £££

@@LukeGJPotter you could be right about the aero benefits though, Zwift insider bot climbs the Alpe at 14km/h. If the aero benefit of the Aeroad over the lightest bike was more than 2 watts at this speed then it would be faster.

The claimed weight of the disc brake Aeroad CFR and disc brake Ultimate SLX are actually nearly identical when accounting for the differences in spec options. So the Aeroad is pretty light

It’s the same as the flats I believe.
