I like that this video works on two levels. Before I watched the MrBeast video it was parodying I saw the joke as entirely on a selfish deaf guy who needs to get his priorities straight and is overly entitled. But after watching the video it suddenly shifted my sympathies. If MrBeast was randomly giving only some of the deaf people extravagant gifts on top ($10,000 cash, jetski, etc) and not others (just to make himself look EXTRA generous for his millions of followers) I'd be pissed too. It's very Curb Your Enthusiasm. Like, if this was Larry David you could understand how everyone around him would justifiably call him a selfish prick for not being more grateful about his hearing being restored. But you could also see Larry's perspective of outrage over the perceived injustice of others getting huge extra gifts on top of it seemingly at random. I also love the detail of the briefcase of "crew equipment" being the exact same briefcase people in the original video were getting $10,000 cash.
