I feel like I could have read the transcript for this sketch faster than I had to listen to it.

Devastating. I was hiding behind this rock, hoping to hear the Royal News, but I'm illiterate, & much too shy to ask what the Royal News was. Now I'll have to roll my rock all the way to town and just hope one of the peasants sees fit to spread the Royal News in a location accessible to my eavesdropping.

Hey Joel can we please read the video next time I feel like take things in better that way

The king's truly _not that corrupt_ if his citizens: - Can miss a royal news decree without fear of consequence. - Are literate. - Can talk to the king during a decree. - Can even express opinions or make suggestions during a decree.

I don't know why, but the scroll hitting the ground is absolutely hilarious to me.

Best part “Oh, okay, sick”. Love that they both just drop it, somehow even less effort than throwing it over their shoulders.

I like how powerful monarchs and emperors in Joel’s videos are always super chill and reasonable. I bet this king isn’t even that corrupt.

This is why literacy became such an issue: kings were sick of people wanting to just read the news and not get to shout it royally.

Ebsynth is great, but man whenever you do faster movements the whole thing just falls apart. Great animation, keep it up!

This is such a different and nice video to watch, i don't know why it feels soo good to watch this.

Imagine you just got hired and had to wait all week for your big debut: reading the royal news. You practice your annunciations in the mirror, you wear your finest chain mail, you actually bathe for once. And the day comes........ And your job is essentially obsolete as somehow everyone in the town can read. You sadly sulk home to go rework your resume only to find out that you're spouse has contracted mumps and has lost their hearing. Now nobody can hear you , and the next day you opt to launch yourself into the sea by way of mangonel. *End scene* Mannnnnm what I wouldn't give to go back. Things were lightyears easier than whatever the hell the last few years have been.
