After a great deal of testing it has become clear, this is one of the worst backpacks I have ever tested. Uncomfortable on a scale that is completely unacceptable.
This should be removed from the market immediately.

NatureHike 60+10L Ultralight Backpack Review
Agenda Free Link :
Cost : $90 on Amazon - retail is $110 and that’s on the NH web site & that is the Nylon Version.
Versions : There is a 40+5L version, the 60+5L Nylon materials & there is 60+5L Dyneema version which is more expensive.
Colors : NH Refers to this as black but it is grey to me. It is also available in Blue
Materials :
This version features 420D Nylon, YKK zippers
Weight : 2.56lbs
Dimensions : 26.38 x 10.23 x 7.09 in
Max Loadout Weight : 30.8lbs
Sex : Uni
Review Pros :
Overall quality is good
Frame is very good - uncommon with a pack of this design
Pack has plenty of space but it requires you to pack it high; narrow design
Good strap adjustment capability
Harness pocket is big enough for your phone
Good compression straps on the sides which double as gear retentioners. You can strap in trekking poles, a tripod and so on easily.
From mess pocket is excellent and can be used to store wet items; jacket, rain fly, tarp, etc.
Rain cover included and it works
Review Cons :
Hip pockets are insanely small - you can get most phones to fit but that’s it. Has to be very flat items.
The Biggest problem for this pack is the shoulder harness and the amount of space between them. You have 3.25” of space which is simply not wide enough for most people.
My neck is around 5.5” wide and because of that the harness rubs aggressively the sides of my throat and is uncomfortable. It will rub you raw.
Only comfortable when wearing a sweater or thicker layers.
No torso adjustment and there is no provided information from NH about range this was made for. Based upon my use, I believe 18” to 20” makes sense but that’s only a rough ballpark - if you are tall or really short, you may find this pack to fit incorrectly.
Harness pocket is not big enough for all water bottles; some simply won’t fit and it will be a very tight fit for small bottles
Sternum strap is LOW and is only adjustable moving downwards. Terrible design! For me, it sits below my pecks;I don’t know how to best to word this, for women it is very low and sits across their chest & is uncomfortable for every woman I have let try this out.
There is a hydration port but no way to hold a bladder inside of the pack; no sleeve, no hooks.
Water bottle pockets on the sides of the pack can’t be reached easily with the pack on.
Larger individuals will find the waist belt to be small.
Ventilation is merely ok with this pack - hike hard enough & it is warm enough, the mesh will soak in sweat.
Summary :
This has been an interesting product to review & by the way, I purchased it with my own money; Agenda Free All The Way!
This pack has some useful features but features some very limiting design choices.
For an example;
If you have a torso length below 18” or above 20, I would not recommend this pack.
If you have neck wider that 3” I would suggest skipping this pack…which sounds incredibly stupid to say because only a child which this pack wasn’t designed for would have a neck that small.
Weird sternum strap placement can make this pack completely useable and it is going to be impossible to know whether it will work for you or not unless you try it on. The placement makes the pack fit strangely for some body types.
For many women, the sternum strap is too low & is too uncomfortable. Larger the chest size
To sum it up, do I recommend this pack? No I don’t. It features some of the worst design features I have ever seen & the odds are, it won’t fit you correctly in some form or fashion.
NH needs to pull this product from the market & makes some serious alterations as it simply won’t work for most people. Yes, the price is good but that means nothing if the pack isn’t comfortable to use.
By the way, the way that NH describes this pack I find irritating;
“Multi-purpose - Lightweight and easy to carry, it is compact and suitable for outdoor/climbing/travel/camping/commuting/business trip/school/sports/gym/hiking/motorcycle/town use/disaster prevention.”
That’s a bunch of bullsh*t and so is this backpack.
NatureHike, this is a complete failure and folks, it isn’t worth your money.

Love this pack. Have used and will continue to use on multiple trips. Fits great, but I am a normal, 6 ft 1 205 lb guy, rolling a lightweight load with no more than 4 days of gear. Not a single issue presented here has affected my experience with this pack in any way shape or form, and I gave it am honest, outstanding, review for the price. If you are looking for a super high end backpack this isn't it. If you're looking for something sub-$100 that's lightweight this is an excellent pack to borrow from someone and give a shot for a weekend trip. Best wishes.

I just watched Novice Wild campers review on this pack and he proved almost all of Luks points wrong. My impression is that its actually quite a decent pack worth the money (as its cheap)... Not everyone has the money to buy super expensive stuff and ultralight can be very expensive, so I actually would appreciate a decent budget pack which is why I am confused that he hates it so much. Makes me wonder if big channels as the outdoor gear review only push brands that send gear to them.....

Luke does his very best to analyze gear and be impartial. Unfortunately he often misunderstands products, their purpose and such. He also lets his emotions get in the way and make him biased , so if he doesn’t like something for some reason he will nitpick. Always find fault in things - it can be great as it exposes faults, but it can be overly done like it is here. He also heavily dissed the Naturehike Vik, which according to everyone else is a great tent. Maybe he’s got a trifle with the brand

It does seem like a lot of the complaints he has with the pack are because the pack doesn’t fit him well, and a few of the other complaints do seem to be nitpicking, having said that, I respect his opinion, but he should not be telling people not to buy it, it’s going to fit everyone differently and have features that appeal to other people. The only thing that I personally don’t like about the pack is that it doesn’t have an attachment point or pocket/pouch for a water bladder, everything else is fine from the other reviews I’ve seen

I have the dyneema version of this pack. I carried 29 lbs comfortably over 75 mi in 4 days. One day I did 25 and a half miles it's 6,000 ft of elevation gain. I'm six foot one and I found it completely comfortable. I was able to stuff my whole tent and ground cover in the outside main pocket. The side straps are used to compress the top roll back you don't have to click it together at the top you can impress it down the sides by connecting. I like your reviews a lot Luke and trust them. However I'm happy I bought this pack before you reviewed it.

I have the dcf version of this pack, it's very similar to my HMG pack. Every trip I've taken this pack on, it's worked well for me. He's right about a couple things, like the hip belt pockets, they're tiny, you can fit bars or your car keys and that's about it. It's a one size fits all kinda thing, it doesn't give you sizes to choose from like other companies. I'd say it would be equivalent to a size, mens large. I'm 6'3 and it fits me quite well. I would change the size of the hip belt pockets, but it's by no means a deal breaker for me. Overall I'm glad I got it. If you're 6 foot or taller it's not a bad bag. If you're shorter than 6 foot, then frame size will be an issue. But if you're taller, it'll work fine. Normally his reviews are in point, but this one missd the mark. Only thing I can think of, is that he's not as tall as me, and the frame size is meant more so for taller people. The pack would have been more comfortable if he had the right sized pack.

This pack works for me. The shoulder strap pocket is useless and way too high but works well for holding a gopro or hiking umbrella. The hip pockets are small but they hold a phone just fine or snacks. I have had no issues with the straps rubbing my neck. The sternum strap works for me but it truly should be adjustable. The exterior mesh pocket is huge and works well to store your tent or camp shoes. It stretches out a lot! The side mesh pockets stretch enough to hold two water bottles each. I dont think you were truly fair in your review as this is a great lightweight budget pack that is not nearly as horrible as you made it out to be.

Good point. Noticed that too. This list at 12:35 is funny. I can imagine how this meeting went. What can we think off how to use a backpack. You can also use it to crawl home on your knees while being drunk coming from the bar. Good point. You can put in a book, a duck, a squirrel, a fish but not a tuna, a table leg, flowers, a coconut, firewood, veggies at the supermarket, beer (sold separately) or body parts after you murdered someone, maybe not all of it at once depending on the age. Use it on a bus, in a train, on a boat or floating on one of them blow up unicorns. It's useful when a comet hits the earth cause maybe you are not hiking where it strikes but you are back at the shop to buy another pack that's good.(Company meeting mumbling...guys what else can we think off) And the disaster prevention is funny. Not buying this pack prevents the biggest disaster.

I got mine today, and at 6'2" & 180 this fits me just fine. It's got a nice little aluminium frame for rigidity, there's plenty of padding in the back, the hip belt's fine, and the sternum strap is where I'd expect it to be. I'm packing a 16 pound pack for a 2 week / 300 mile hike and it seems perfectly fit for purpose. Seems you need to be over 6 foot to be happy with this backpack. Also the strap-closure for the top isn't as demonstrated in this video, it's a lot more secure if done correctly.

The "three inches apart" design isn't all that uncommon. The difference is that most angle them outward enough to compensate. My GoLite is similar behind my neck, but the 20-30 degree angle puts it around 7 or 8 inches on the shoulders.

You don't get a rain cover included in the purchase. I however have the patrol poncho that keeps me and the bergen dry it would of been nice to of included the rain cover for but that is an extra purchase on top and I already had the poncho so it was unessasary.

I have this pack but don't have as many issues with it. But I also would only recommend it to guys with long torsos. For me reaching back for water bottles is the easiest out of all the packs I own. I find the foam on the back doesn't really touch my back so it's quite breezy. The sternum strap is just high enough for me. But yeah, the hip pockets are too small and the shoulder straps aren't well designed. I plan on adding some soft foam on the shoulder straps

I've hiked a couple of hundred miles with this pack. I didn't find it rubbed on my neck at all (I'm 6" and around a 16 inch neck) whilst wearing a t-shirt but did find the torso length really weird - it is somewhat adjustable but even for me I think it was a little long. The shoulder straps are attached at the wrong height I think, so they didn't shape all that well for me. I agree with the point that it is difficult to see what body type this is ideally suited for - someone tall and skinny maybe? Odd choice considering Naturehike's main market is China domestic plus the rest of SE Asia. However it was comfortable with a 7kg BW / 13 Kg total and I've done some pretty big days with it. The hip belt pockets are not as bad as made out here I don't think. All in all for the $70 it cost on sale I think its excellent value. I intend to keep using mine in winter and going for something smaller in summer.

I think the main problem with this pack is that it's not ajustable for back length. This means that a shorter guy (no offence intended, i'm just 1m79 myself) will not get it to fit right, which leads to the comments about the gap width with the shoulder straps, and sternum strap etc. Honestly, none of my packs have a wider width between the straps, and that's not a problem if the pack is the right size for you and the straps aren't located at your nape. The only times i've found it to be a problem, is with packs which are just too big for me. If the shoulder straps are digging into your shoulders or neck, then you haven't fit the pack correctly (if it's adjustable), or it's just the wrong size. The shoulder straps shouldn't be carrying the weight, but instead should just be holding a hiking pack to your back. The waist belt is what carries the weight. None of my packs even have the shoulder straps touching the top of my shoulders when adjusted well with the load lifters. Also, you get what you pay for. At the pricepoint, it's a good pack, AS LONG as it's the right size for you. That's why most packs have adjustable backs, or come in multiple sizes. Which is definitly something naturehike should look into. Not to say there aren't problems (no sleeve for a hydration system seems weird for a pack with ports for it, but i do think you were a bit too harsh in your review due to the reasons mentioned above, which just point to you using the wrong size pack for your body type.

This video made me do a double take. I don't think any of my packs have the straps spaced out over 3". Eyeballing a few they seem to be closer together. I'd guess the issue is the angle at which they are attached to the pack and the position of the attachment. Definitely seems like they have something to learn about making packs. I bought a relatively cheap daybag for the WHW mainly to carry my water and waterproofs and it went through the mill. Scrambling over rocks, through bush and so much more. The bag held up but the internal pockets were torn and one of the straps kept coming undone. However given the terrain and weight the bag held up well, especially for a cheap daybag. Would be interesting to see how others fair.

I got the Dynema version of this pack because of the features and great price. Also had seen some reviews that were mostly positive, though some did point out the issue with the sizing not being right for everyone. Ive yet to do a hike in it, so can't speak to the comfort issues yet. I did a max weight packout test and it seemed ok, no issue with the straps on my neck anyway. The load lifters work at first but seem to slip, at least with the weight I had in. I didnt notice a major issue with the sternum strap but again I didnt hike in it yet. The build quality seems very good for $100AUD. Though I notice yours seems to have uneven straps? I even noticed the outward bend in the straps which presumably is supposed to be for your neck is too low, near you chest. Could be why you had neck issues. Hopefully the comfort for me is "good enough" even though I'm only 5'7". If not, I'll see if any of my taller mates want it, might be great for them. We don't have a lot of affordable options in Australia, so it has a lot of initial appeal.

Just checked my kestrel 48 and its only a 3" gap on the harness as well, I have seen a other comments saying there back packs were similar. Did you check other packs for the gap width? But to be fair it was a nice long review and you def don't like it :)

My first impression, seeing this on you is that the shoulder straps are sewn on square at the top and doesn't match the natural slope of your shoulders. That, combined with the narrow spacing is the death knell for it...comfort wise. It looks dumb with the inside edges resting on your shoulders and the outside edges floating in space..lol kinda like and 80's big hair rock band outfit 😏

Don't worry. I've just came back from a 2 night hike carrying 15kg in this pack. And it worked really good. Yes, I never had any other hiking backpack so cannot compare. My shoulders were sore, so were the shoulders of the rest of my group. I never use side pockets for water bottle. The sternum strap was straight and just where it should be. I guess that how my body is shaped. Anyway, next time I will try to swap backpacks with one of my fellow hikers. Perhaps then I will learn the suckness of my pack.
@LiamMarcon
@LiamMarcon 2 роки тому
@@kilaraol it seems the main issue with this pack is it's sized for small window of torso sizes. Also while the materials seem good, the quality control might be lacking. As many have pointed out, the one in this review appears to have uneven straps. So, the pack maybe be totally fine for you. Lucky if so. Im hoping I'm lucky too as I bought it as well, yet to hike in it.
@alexlewis9846

I have this exact pack. It comes with the sternum strap. The 40 doesn’t and it’s says that in the website. That’s why some people don’t get them. It’s not terrible. There are cons but a lot of pros as well. My only issue is with the harness system as well. But I’ve been able to carry 25-28 lbs in it

Actually a 60L + 5L ….so that was wrong…. Then the way he cinches up the roll top … so that was wrong…. I can fit my iPhone in the hip pocket …. So that was wrong…. He never talked about the adjustable hip belt to lengthen the torso length… so that was wrong …. It definitely has its foibles for sure … it does not work with short torso lengths definitely …. But try getting a pack that weighs around 2lb for that money ! I don’t know why his was so uncomfortable … I’ve done a number of multi day trips with mine with no problem perhaps Luke didn’t have it adjusted properly or he had it overloaded ….

I bought a very similar pack, 76€, UHMWPE material similar to dyneema. It's my first backpacking bag and i love it. Has also the harnesses rather close together but it was never a problem for me, so far. Have only used it in the winter so could be a problem with only a t-shirt. 185 cm guy, normal build. Chest strap works good. Has no cushion on back but mesh in corners so you can put your own. 3F QiDian Pro edit: I remember using it once with a thin longsleeve without problems. So i think there is more to it than just the distance between the harnesses.

QiDian is very different, it's frame-less and pad-less in UL spirit.

This is NatureHike’s take (a poor take) on the fabulous Gossamer Gear Mariposa. I find it’s impossible to access my water bottle in all backpacks. My main con with respect to the Mariposa pack is that it’s extremely difficult to get my large gear into the main internal pocket because it collapses in on itself. I appreciate its light weight (2 lbs), but I would like a detachable brain option and a bottom accessible pocket.

My 1 lb. backpack, which isn't rigid, has a fixed neckspace of 1,5 inches, while my own neck is 4,5 inches. Is this important? Should I buy a new pack? I only carry maximum 12 lb.

Thanks for gear review. This video kind of cracks me up lol. What a terrible pack. I just ran upstairs to check my backpacks. They all actually come really close at the top, closer even then that one. However, they are engineered so all the angles are right, and the padding is not super stiff. They need to go back to the drawing board.

I thought about getting that pack because I wanted a backpack that was like a stuff sack since my bike panniers are like that and I use trekking poles and a tarp but recently got a UL trek pole tent. Glad I didn't because I also do not have a 3inch neck and I have a long torso and I am also very disappointed about that small pocket being sew in.
