Been doing muscle ups for awhile, although i've been struggling to do them consecutively. For whatever reason i just can't manage to do more than one even though i've had occassions where i have done 2 or 3 in a row. I know i have the strength so i've just been focusing really hard on what i can do mechanically to be able to do reps and sets of muscle ups. I agree with both of you guys, most people never feel what it's like to be ABOVE the bar, but once you finally manage your first muscle up you feel so incredible and just want to throw your hands in the air... except you can't 😂 It really does make you feel like you're on top of the world. Anyway i'm still on my muscle up journey to figuring out how to do them consecutively hence why i found this video. That said i've not found a single video with tips on how to link together muscle ups, only videos on how to do them in general. So my journey continues to figure out the secret to consecutive muscle ups

@@GeekClimber Remember this is a move that is part skill based and part power to bodyweight based. As a climber you have already honed your strength to master YOUR bodyweight. Your power to bodyweight ratio is excellent. What you can achieve on a wall is well beyond what an average Joe could achieve. Walk down the street an look at the average dude. I am in my late 40s 90kg and 6 ft 3 inches, I could barely do a pull up a year ago, I have had to train my ass off to hit 15. You can easily do 10. You have super low body fat and you have great pulling power. However credit to you for hitting your goal, it wasn't easy and the pain was real. Big respect.

Unfortunately my gym does not have a straight bar so I'm using a slightly angled variation which I learned is dangerous. So I will be heading to Home Depot to build my own bar in the backyard. I will continue to train this until I can perform at least 10 strict muscle ups. After that,being able to hang on a 10-foot rim @ 5'9" and 500 lb deadlift. Still got a lot of work to do but setting goals and accomplishing them, it's probably one of the best feelings you can give yourself. keep up the great work man!! looking forward to the progress

Back in high school i went from 4 basic pull ups to 8 muscle ups in a month although i did train 3 hours, 6 times a week. The only 2 things you have to do to make muscle ups easier is try to do pull ups as high as possible and do dips on 1 bar (like when you're supposed to push up from the bar), talking from personal experience.

@radicalracc5918
@radicalracc5918 5 років тому
If you can’t do 10 pull-ups you are either a huge body builder or weak it’s not that hard.
@sdbeecham7806
@sdbeecham7806 5 років тому
Starting off, forget about Radical Racc. All you have to do if you want to increase your amount of pull-ups is this: Start with chin-ups because they are easier. Do as many as you can every day until you can hit 5 consecutive chin-ups. After that, start doing pull-ups. And again, do as many as you can each day. Your back and arm strength will increase no doubt!
@arbulonrexhepi
@arbulonrexhepi 5 років тому
@@radicalracc5918 if you have never tried the pull ups in particular it's very possible that you can't do even 1. When I tried a pull up for the first time I couldn't do even one and barely 2 chin ups, but at the time I was able to do 50 clean push ups.
