The videography in this at the halfway point in the rain is on point. Not only useful but dramatically filmed.

I have one . Went through 8hrs of heavy thunderstorms with flash floods. Had some splatter come through one vent. During a low in the rain I went out and pushed up internal flaps in vent and never had a problem the rest of the night. 4 to 5 inches of rain fell here in Kentucky that night.

Thanks YT for randomly recommend me this videos. I didnt know that tents can be so different, because I really never had to use one. I just remember the one time when I was camping with a youth group and I had to bring my own Tent. My parents had a old one for 2 person and it probably was more on the cheap side. It was a summer weekend with a lot of rain in the nights. The thing I remember the most was that a lot of tents gave up after the first night. But my tent stood strong and was completely dry inside, and the other 2 rainy nights it could handle 3 young kids without having condensation/ ventilation problems. I will probably yoink that tent from my parents when I visit them the next time because I appreciate it even more now. Thanks for the nice and interesting videos.

I am just now seeing some of your reviews. I do enjoy them and find them useful. I looked at the date of this video and remembered that I was camping that entire week, which included a tornado-spawning storm that sent waterspouts across the lake where we were camped on a bluff on the east side. I hadn't camped in that much rain in a long time. I put up a super large (yes, my car was nearby) heavy duty tarp over my small frame-hammock tent and my son's more traditional tent and used every tie down, a fair amount of paracord and all my extra stakes, carabiners, trekking poles and extra camp poles to secure that tarp over us. We survived and had no water in our tents and the tarp caught all the extra debris that was flying around or came down from the trees (walnut and hickory trees). We were surrounded by mud and debris, but our gear was fine. I now camp with not only my ground cloth but an extra rain tarp to go over my tent set up.

I bought this tent from OneTigris' Aliexpress store for $140 USD. My own testing (garden hose, 6 weeks of no rain here with no amount in the forecast for another few weeks) has not been able to produce leaks. However, I have not been able to wet out the fly as the treatment is doing a good job of beading the water off immediately. Like 99% of factory-sealed tents, there is no exterior seam sealing (i.e. Seam Grip brushed on the outside). The exterior seams are all taped on the inside, however the interior seams for the vents on the rainfly are not taped. In exceptionally heavy and extended rain events, I can envision water soaking into the exterior seams and then wicking into the interior vent seams. This would be a design oversight. There was a similar design oversight with the Backwoods Bungalow 2.0. The stitching for the velcro vent stand is taped on the inside.

Is the rain/water leaking through the fabric or the seams? I wonder if a good coat of waterproofing spray wouldn't be an easy fix. I had one of their 2.0 Bungalo tents and in periods of prolonged rain it leaked (dripped) from 2 or 3 spots along the forward roof line. A lengthwise spurt of waterproofing spray has solved the issue. Yeah, you shouldn't have to do such a thing, but I wouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater if the fix is simple.

Is it easily rectified ? I always treat my tents for extra waterproofing after purchase, no matter what tent.

Okay, so we know that the tent leaks, and from where. Being an outdoor gear review guy, could you propose a fix to the problem, such as sealing the seams where the water intrudes? Or is this tent a total loss? If One Tigris is going to address the issue, fine. But in the mean time, is there a solution to the problem that current owners can apply?

Seems like companies have trouble doing seam sealing around where the stiffeners are sewn in along the edge of the vent. I seam seal all seams on my rain fly that are above the tent body as insurance. Seam sealer is cheap.

It obviously failed the rain test but all the other you said it passed so this tent has some promise. There's clearly a defect that needs to be addressed properly and if they do and it doesn't leak anymore then it will be a great tent option in my opinion.

Is there not a tent water resistant grading like mobile phones have or water proof speakers (IP67)

I purchased this tent about a month ago. I have not had it out in the rain as of yet. I have seamed sealed the vent stitching on the outside. Hopefully that will fix the water leak issue.

I wouldn't consider using ANY tent without spraying the rain fly with 303 protectant. If you do you will sleep better with no leaks.

Hello everyone, does someone have any experience with FE active? I recently found a tent called "the escondido" but there's not much information about it

The design flaw seems to be the holes installed on the top of the tent. To fix such a problem, one could buy a tent of similar dimensions that does not have holes cut in the top, throw away the new tent body and the holy fly, and form a hybrid tent with lots of bungee cords and paracord. Alternatively, throw away the tent with holes in the roof and buy a tent without holes in the roof. I favor the later repair method.

If you had this tent, is it possible to fix the area in which it leaks with some seam seal, or is it beyond that?

I'd heard that One Tigress tents were the way to go. Not that was a concern for me with the Snugpack Bunker I wouldn't trust another brand after that as the Eurohike tent let me down and 2 different Vango tents also let me down namely the Nova 300 & the Halo Pro 300 mountain tent that one collapsed on me in the middle of the night 2am I had to abandon camp.
