Tf2 is a team based hero shooter. Valve is the “not like other AAA companies” of AAA companies but they are actually not like other AAA companies. Whatever they do it’ll probably end up great. Hell even artifact with all its issues still had good gameplay considering the card game genre.

@@ArmyofFallenOnesOfficial Bro they made games in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2018 (idk if we count artifact lol), 2019, and 2020. Plus they worked on the HTC Vive that released in 2016, the Valve Index in 2019, and the Steam deck that released last year. They've honestly done a hell of a lot in the last 10 or so years. Not many games companies with only ~300 employees work on games, hardware, and run the largest gaming storefront in the world. Imagine if Naughty Dog lost 100 developers but also released a couple VR headsets, and a mobile device and kept the playstation store running on top of releasing games like the last of us.

@@vibaj16 that's not how it works. The characters are blurred within the boundaries of roles. Classes are clearly distributed by tasks (if the game is well thought out and balanced). Example - if someone from the 9th classes is missing in the team in TF2 it will greatly affect and will be an Achilles heel (because paper beats stone, etc.). Heroes / characters / champions as you like, outside of such a balance, since they can be replaced by any other.

@@Klar cs2 doesn’t take full advantage of source 2. Its cus the game is infamous for being able run on potatos. Alyx is good but it can definitely look better.

If you're talking about pushing an engine to its absolute limits and showing the GRAPHICAL capabilities of the engine then I'm afraid no game will do that as valve will continue to make their games stylised and CS2 obviously will be optimized for better performance rather than graphical fidelity. An engine's capability is not only its graphics man come on are we 12 years old??

with the way valve manages game devleopment nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if everything he said was true. There probably very unorganized and don't know what kinda game they wanna make. Theres really no boss at valve people just kind of work on what they are interested in.

Pay for cards to play the game, making the best cards the rarest and therefore most expensive. (when they said power level wouldn't be related to rarity) Pay to enter prize modes. Take a % cut of prize mode entry fees. Make a Trading Card Game where you can't trade. You can only buy and sell on their market, while taking a 15%+ cut. Sell a card for $0.03, get $0.01. (Or the dwindling concurrent user count online) Because the game isn't inherently fun for the average person, there is no incentive to play. Valve's only option is to finish the game, make it more fun, more complete, and then relaunch as Free2Play without any paywalls so the other 90% of the world can try it out and create a better community. No players = no game. Also, what about the $1,000,000 first place Artifact tournament scheduled for Q1 2019? When you consider the time it takes to announce and run qualifiers, and for players to secure their Visa's and schedule travel. There's only 2 possible options.
