The broken glass fell into the hatch after being struck by a golf ball. Then the owner of the audi took it to a glass place to have it “fixed”. A week later, he brought it to my shop

Does it need a new manifold (like the V10 Lambo Fail Model...)?? Supercharger add on?? Yes? No? Bad idea? Good idea, but not worth the $$$? Great Idea, Go For It.... Use brand [ __________ ]...!!! But I'll definitely be trying to get as much as I can, and let then know there will always be some but I've gotten as much as I can with the tools I have available. Always amazes me how some companies will tell you that something can’t be done and either you have to live with it or try to talk you into a different solution that’s not really the right way to solve the issue. Ran into this many times over the years with my own business where customers were told by other companies that what they wanted couldn’t be done. Fortunately the customer didn’t accept that company’s explanation and found me that could do what they wanted and had a happy customer. Never accept the first comment someone gives you if it’s not what you want. Do some calling around and do your research and many times you may find someone that can do what you want. But it may cost you a pretty penny for good quality craftsmanship!

The Q7 has 2 sets of tails lights the one on the very bottom and the top ones but when you open the hatch it’s supposed to switch to the secondary ones because the primary ones are completely out of sight when the tailgate is up so that switch is just meant to turn them on but the broke glass was jammed in there leaving it in the on position hence they had no tail lights while driving

At my service center we are limited in what we can do, we don’t have a full dealership’s amount of gear and tech; we’re small. If someone has an issue we can’t fix we don’t try because we could make it worse, and leaving it worse than we found it is completely unacceptable. If in the worst case we couldn’t correct something we undertook like “we don’t know how to get the glass out of there,” we would sooner refer the customer to a competitor and pay for it, than tell them they’ll just have to deal with it.

@TheBigChad

This is what service used to be like. I remember my grandpa telling me in the 60s, people were so proud to have a job, they would really go above and beyond. It builds trust and relationships and keeps people coming back. They tell their friends and family and before you know it, you’re booked 4 months out. And people will actually wait because you show them the same detail you would take on your own car. I never had a blood and sweat kinda job like my dad or my grandpa, I’m an RN, but I still put all of me into it and treat people as if they were my wife or best friend no matter what they’re in the hospital for. Even the guy that’s too drunk to function and is cussing everyone out, he deserves respect too

Don’t sign the paperwork if someone says “we can’t do that.” Call insurance and report the misdeeds by the repair shop. They’ll have to eat a lot of the incurred costs. The insurance will pass the bill to them.
