I don't know if it has scientific proof, but it sounds logical. I've heard from internet that MSG as one of aminoacids that our body needs, is an indicator of a rich in protein food. And since protein is a very important ingredient, our bodies have developed a way to find out that the food is rich in protein so that we do our best to eat enough protein.

I'm from Romania, visited Venice in 2023 in October, while it was beautiful, the sheer number of tourists there ruins the experience. Everything is overcrowded, you can't do this, do that, because if too many people do it, it would either destroy some monument, building, etc or you cause a " traffic" jam. Most vendors I saw were not Italian. In fact, in my visit through Verona, Venice and Sirmione, I've heard little Italian. I kind of understand why locals don't really like tourism. I don't know what a good solution would be.
