Show was always a 10/10 for me. Did the show suffer from being on a regular network in the early 2000s, yes, but that doesn't mean it can't still be great, especially for working within those confines. Alias (JJ Abram's show just prior to this) was in a similar boat. Much more ambitious than what you'd expect on network TV and it was a hit. Honestly, Lost existed on ABC because Alias existed on ABC and the success of that show was enough for that exec to trust such a large investment into Lost.

SNL is a live comedy skit show where they basically throw spagetti on a wall and see what sticks. It’s kinda like hanging out with some friends who are stoned and acting stupid and trying to be funny and they are enough times that you remember them as hilarious and basically forgot all the times they weren’t that funny. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The one downside to the timing on guitar hero is that it may ignore a sense of rhythm the song has opting for the "correct" rhythm in terms of robotic timing. A good example of why this is bad is The Used's new guitarist who timing wise is exact. So exact the songs can become boring.

Thank you Drew, loved your analysis of the show. I am also a big fan (watched a lot growing up in the 90s and now catch 2-3 bits a week from UKposts) and realize it's not a perfect show, and you really summarized it's appeal and drawbacks nicely. I also have people judge me for liking SNL, so I'm glad there are other ppl out there who still root for the comedians and enjoy the ideas and laugh at the jokes. Thanks for putting this video together!

I’m not too disappointed, I think the show is decent. The Northern Water Tribe structure was so beautiful I rewinded many times. My only real complaint is the acting & lack of emotion on screen. Everyone sounds like they’re in LA in 2024. I wish they would’ve used speech patterns that fit the time period better. On a positive note, the original show creators should be really proud of themselves. They created a masterpiece, and it’s clear that the magic of it can’t be replicated.

I honestly turned this show off right after Gran Gran just monologues the death of Aang's entire culture to him. This and so many other seemingly "minor" changes that they made in the first part of the episode have such major implications on Aang's, Katara's, and Sokka's characters and growth.

The lighting and visuals of the house, the outfits, the accents, the ''you better get it together or there's gonna be consequences" (<offers no help. makes them guilty and ashamed of existing) really pretty nostalgic for someone raised in early 2000s south. -Nvm this is so funny, the movie came out 2018 so I may have been uhhh, very off in my observation. I was thinking the outfits looked liked stuff I knew from at LEAST the 2010s. Admittedly though most children's clothing hasn't changed a whole lot, at least not in common store clothing. Also to be more specific about the ''lighting and visuals'' I mentioned; I can't quite put my finger on it but the lighting throughout the movie, the nature, and the house's bedrooms and architecture feel very familiar and nostalgic. Which is kind of ironic because my home didn't have stairs when I was younger. Barely any of the houses of my extended family did.
