I am immensely thankful! Thank You for bringing this up, I was always worried about creating scenes that had to mirror the outdoor with all the foliage and I couldn't ask for a better resolution to the issue.

Hey Justin, hope you’re doin well! I have been trying to adapt to blender for archviz purposes nowadays and I’m wondering if you’re planning to do a tutorial series about general archviz in blender(like interior design, exterior facade modeling and lanscaping etc.). Your sketchup tutorials were superior and you basically are the reason that a lot of people have improved themselves in sketchup including me so thank you for that as well!

Not sure yet - Blender in my opinion is just a more difficult system to work with all those things, so I haven't gotten that in-depth on some of that (plus you can't actually export drawings from it). Maybe I'll do some of that in the future

Well if you have GeoScatter, you're going to want that - it's much more advanced than Biome Reader

I don't believe so - not in the same way you can with GeoScatter. I'm sure you could do SOMETHING here but it feels like it would get pretty heavy

In biome reader, how to assign the same vertex group to all the systems for masking?

1. you just need to select the arrow key on the side for all the systems at the same time 2. go to the vertex group section and check it by holding alt. 3. select your preferred vertex map from the list, and hold alt key and enter.

For some reason it cannot find my .blend file - even though I have the asset library installed plus setting the file path to the folder that has the .blend file and those other small files. Frustrating.

edit: I don't even know what I did - but it updated my library and I now have plant library and plant library (old) in my biomes folder, which now works.

I'm a bit lost on this stuff.. In blender it keeps saying there is a preexisting assets folder but it never even existed on my actual computer so I was forced to create a new path. I put the .blend file in the manually made asset folder and still nothing.

The understanding I got from the creator’s UKposts channel is that the free assets are the same ones in GeoScatter. And The latest version of Geoscatter doesn’t come with assets any more.

it is not the same assets that is included in the plant library, but an improved version of it. Also some of them are new.

Yes i was super confused about that as well. These are the new free Assets for Geo Scatter, you can not get the old ones anymore and they are updating the Plant Library for the missing stuff like the winter stuff. Infos from their Discord

@@simonzhang3D old ones are still available. when you download plant library,in the download section there is 'legacy' models which contains the old ones.

I've been trying these type add-ons one after the other and really get frustrated with performance. Tutorials are showing small patches, which aren't a lot of push on a system but, when you throw the bio's, let's say grass, on an average size lawn (I tested a project with just a 65ft x 98ft yard) you pretty much near lock up, and I'm testing with just 64 samples. I'm running an i7 desktop, RTX 3090, with 64GB RAM so, not a low performance machine. I need to run EEVEE animations, even running these addons filling a yard can near lock down a still, let alone an EEVEE animation. Is there anything that can give a look of even just grass that is designed to work in animation without having to have half a dozen a Cray computers strung together? I've really grown tired of spending half a day trying to get an addon to function that looks great on a two foot square surface but is unusable in a real world scenario.

The Biome Reader is Free. I got it for free. It's full featured Geo-Scatter that is $99. Two different products.
