Glad that Bruno and the meerkats healed. It would been good, we got an update on how fur baby is doing from having his or her ear drained. Thank you 🙏 to awesome vet and their assistants for helping the animals.

Bruno is such a cutie. Hope he heals well and has many more years taking care of Raphael. I have to wonder if it wasn’t set properly when he broke it earlier or because he was so young it affected the growth plates?

I've been in a coma and will preach this forever: sedation does not equal pain management. I remember procedures done before I woke up. Please use anesthetics for painful procedures, even with sedation. 28:30

Was it just unfortunate that Bruno's paw twisted after healing or it is because the vet that performed the correction did so incorrectly? I really hope it's the former as otherwise that would've been extremely frustrating for the family. Regardless I'm glad Bruno got the help he needed, you can see from the way he acts around the little one that he's full of love! Also happy the meerkats made a full recovery, I imagine a LOT of work went into their recovery as they're often a handful!

I wonder why the meerkat with the messed up eye wasn't taken in sooner. It almost seems like they only brought it in because rose was limping. I hope they both get better.

Not everyone uses the button method anymore; I really don't understand why they don't, since it works so well though.

@happycanadianfarmer But the drains will take a lot longer, and can clog and allow fluid to build up again. Once an aurel hematoma occurs, the tissues are traumatized, and it's far more likely to occur again. The buttons work similarly to keloid clamps, keeping the tissues together during healing, and they cause less irritation than drainage tubes.

@@theWightRabbit For the past few years this is how it's done. There has been absolutely NO issues. My nephew is a vet and said it's just as easy to do it this way. 🙂

Actually, a sprain is worse than a fracture because with a fracture you can at least fix it but with a sprain there’s not much you can do and especially for an animal there’s not really pain relief that they can take for that all the time

The infection is from a fight & destroyed lower eyelid, if you're talking about the little meercat(?)

& yes the abcess was from the broken canine tooth, that's why it was removed.
