When I would worry about my son driving, my therapist told me "whether you worry or not will have no impact on what you are worrying about" haven't worried since, and I was a chronic worrier. I am not in charge.

I'm 49 years old and I have found out through my own journey that there are some experiences from the past that even we may not be conscious of it they are traumatic and it is not as easy as the expression says:: "just let go & move on" In my own experience I have learned that I need to go through a long & painful process in order to first of all understand what happened and eventually understand how my past experiences had effected my emotional/mental health. I tried many times to just reason and say : "i NEED JUST TO LET GO" but the pain came back again, over and over again affecting my new relationships. It takes more than just reason and be willing to let go. In my case it been taking years of psychotherapy & medication.

I completely agree. Everyone journey is different but it does take time, going through the pain, the emotions, to face them until they start going away…. We cannot suppress them cause we will continuously have them in the back burner…

There is always going to be some residue from last relationships it now becomes a part of our human and soul story. And if you have done enough healing yes it won't be as triggering.Personally it is the inner peace I found from acceptance and awarness as to what I have learned from heartbreaks that has helped me move on and working on growing and elevating in my life to the point that I realize that I'm grateful for those experiences but that I actually couldn't see myself again with men I had relationships with. When we heal and evolve it becomes just a lesson and triggers become less intense and more manageable.Thank you for this interview 🙏🧡
