Kungo..... a name I haven’t heard since the last video I watched

Joel really has mastered the art of playing and disguising himself as several characters, he looks almost unrecognisable as Kungo here

They don't make movies like this anymore. I remember seeing Kungo! for the first time at a drive in in '77. I had a crush on Wendy Spoetzel, the most beautiful girl in our whole school. I remember finally mustering up the courage to ask her. Approaching her with sweaty palms, heart racing. I was a mess. But I had to do it, she just had to know my feelings. It was October 9th 1977, just two weeks before the harvest dance. I walked up as gallantly as I could, in my old Stussy pancho, and brown cords and asked her if she wanted to go see Kungo! The Dirty Pool Boy. She immediately said no, and screamed a little. I later went and saw Kungo! with my stepdad Trevor. I didn't really like it.

The sound effects are fucking killing me. The water splashes as Kongo moves, the slide whistle as Joel adjusts his glasses, and the crunchy sand sound as he walks. Pure art.

Kungo exclaiming, "The pool is dirty!" after sullying it with a bunch of a food has the same energy as Eric Andre unloading multiple bullet rounds onto Hannibal, then turning to the camera to ask with a forlorn expression, "Who killed Hannibal?"

As someone who actually cleans and services pools for a living I find this hilarious 🤣
