Reminds me of when there was a new student at school and took the last seat right beside me. I had only one friend in school and introduced them to each other during the break. They got along very well and I realized how I got pushed more and more into the background. They only had great conversations with one another and I could hardly say a word without being interrupted. One day I just walked away while they were talking and NONE of them realized. After that I had no real friend in school until the end of it. It sucked and I am very careful around new people now. I still liked both of them, but they were just on another level.

Bro I CANNOT stand introducing two different friends from separate friend "groups" to each other. Gives me massive anxiety, because in all my friend groups I ALWAYS feel like the 3rd, 5th, or 7th. Which isn't really my friends fault, because my friends are actually good friends, and don't try to make me feel unincluded or anything and we all get along great. I just went through so many friend groups before 8th grade, and in each one I was 100 PERCENT of the time, the odd one out. I literally always was the 3rd or whatever wheel, that always ended up being kicked or excluded from the group at some point. I was too vocal and energetic and excitable for most of them, and they would all end up telling me I was so annoying and that they didn't want me around. Which I now attribute to my ADD which I didn't get diagnosed with and get any sort of handle on until I was about 14. Which is also when I found my people, my first group of friends that I truly connected with, who liked all the same stuff I do, who liked talking to me, and didn't really have an issue with my sometimes out of control energy and excitement that I tried so hard to keep contained. And even now, a decade later at 24, I'm still friends with all of them, and I'm so close to them that to me, they aren't even just friends, they are my brothers. I now also have friends that I have made outside of and after finishing school, but I'm so scared of losing friendships, due to past experiences with previous "friends" (and some other more personal home issues), that I just cannot bring two separate friends together. Doesn't matter how badly I might want to hang out with both at the same time, and whether or not both are OK with the idea, I just can't do it. I am LITERALLY afraid of "losing" them to each other. Which sucks, because now suddenly I'M the uninclusive one, the one telling one friend "No, we can't hang out, because I'm with another friend." Which was something I HATED experiencing. I really do wish I could get over it, but I can never take the plunge.

Happened to me once, here’s the story to those who are interested: I introduced a very old friend of mine to a newer one, they both hit it off great and they were inseparable. This old friend of mine lived a bit further away so I only saw him once every once in a while, while my newer friend lived across the street. A few months after I introduced them to each other, I would even start to see my old friend in my town while going out even though he never told me he was here, also he would often be at my newer friends house across the street, without letting me know. At some point it was summer and I went to a festival and I was allowed to bring 2 friends, I brought both of the guys and safe to say that the moment when we entered the terrain, I didn’t see them anymore for the upcoming 3 days. Fun fact tho, 3 years later and they don’t talk to each other anymore, funny how people can be so into each other, just like couples, and after 6 months just break up and nothing else ever mentioned

Lol something like that actually happened to me. A friend of mine and I bought a drink at the supermarket, where I met my best friend (and only friend I had in my class this time). So I wanted them to get each other to know while we drank our drinks. They understood each other so well that I was just sitting next to them listening to their conversation. Then we wanted to go and I needed to go to the bathroom ,, so they said that they would wait. When I came back, they were gone and I didnt see both of them for the rest of the day. The one I was originally hanging out with even forgot about our online game session this day. Thats pretty much how I lost contact with two of my best friends I had at the time.

Yeah that ending got me good. Hit way too close to home. I had two great friends, from very different backgroud/group, you get it, friend with them for years, but they never met. One from college and one from metal concerts. And yeah. They became absolute best pals once I introduced them to each others at the pub and then, never had a call from one of them ever again, unless they needed something. Not like I didn't try to do stuff with them, on the contrary. Completely ghosted. It even got quite disgusting to some point actually. Example: Both like "Nah sorry I gotta study tonight" and the other "nah family dinner tonight" (can't remember the excuses but both had one that night and couldn't go out and have a drink) And Bingo! Who do I see drinking together once I get to the pub? That was a really soft example, to say the least.. jeez. They just didn't need me anymore, they found someone more interesting than me to hang with. I'm just not interesting, at all. I'm this "expandable" or "interchangeable" pal, not friend, pal, because friends aren't supposed to do that to each others. I'm just this "pal" everyone knows and supposedly likes to hang out with, but actually nah, it's only if there's no one else, or through sheer pity, got a few to admit that. So yeah, that shit happened to me a few times. Always hurts. Now that was almost ten years ago. Lot of shit hit the fan back then and crippling depression got back at it. Ah, my old enemy. Almost didn't get out of this one. Still barely recovering. Never had actual friends ever since then. Not planning on getting new ones either.

Reminds me of this guy I used to be friends with When it was me and him hanging out, very light banter ensued and it was obvious, sarcastic tones. We never talked shit about people. When his friend was around, he would cop a lot of shit from him but his friend was confident and laughed it off, it didn't phase him. Then it happened, he invited me to drink with him and I asked if I could bring my socially awkward brother along (who also knew of this friend, from high school). We got there and it was him, his girlfriend at the time and another girl who was dating someone we knew. He proceeded, for the next two hours, to just constantly belittle me and pretend to me, in front of these girls, that I was a pussy. At one point I told him "dude, don't call me a pussy" and his response was, with a big confident wide open mouthed smile, to say "prove it, let's have a little spar". Now, he fucking knew I wasn't much of a fighter, I wasn't awkward but he took advantage of that. So the next time I saw him a few weeks later, I told him "what was up with that shit you pulled the other week? you kept shitting on me and it really made me uncomfortable, you don't do that shit to me ever, what the fuck?" and he apologised. Eventually, I realised that he fucking did this to so many people. The other friend (other girl) who was there, he was banging on the side behind the boyfriends back and everytime the boyfriend came up in conversation between me and him (he knew I didn't like the guy because I got shit talked about for having a dead father), he would just chat shit about how the guy is awkward and a pussy. Fucking dickhead is now getting into politics in Australia, plot twist, I have tons of photos of me and him getting high and drinking, so if he ever goes after the poor or supports policy which only cares about money, then I'll just release the photos online anonymously.
