YES! Please describe what are the main ingredients in each item and then describe what it tastes like. (Is it creamy, fruity, crunchy, lightly sweet, strong flavor etc.) I am intrigued by how many pastries there are. They appear to be very time consuming to make. I am looking forward to trying some of these on my trip to Paris. Thank you!

You have finally answered one of the enigmas I had been having about the IN / UN pronunciation! Although I had been taught they are two separate sounds, from what I heard the French pronouncing it I had a very strong feeling that they might actually be the same sound. So - they are, definitely for Paris anyways!
@Street_French

ah yeah and personally I know a lot of people from all around France and I've never heard anyone pronounce it differently. So stick the the same pronunciation and you'll be good :))

@@Street_French Thans. And also there is another phonetic "enigma" I´ve been having for years. Is there any real difference between the "e" (le, ce, je, ne, me, revenir...) and the closed "eu"? Again, phonetically in textbooks they are differencieated, but to my ear they sound the same very often (except that, of course, the "e" tends to be silent and dropped). What is your opinion?

Thanks for these and please continue to pronounce words natively as opposed to strict "rules". I have been learning from you and others as to one reason that studying French in class and trying to speak it on the streets of Paris doesn't match so well. 3 - 5 times to Paris in 20 years have always resorted to speaking English with French people that speak English so much better than I speak French in spite of my trying. Thanks again!

Bonjour/soir! Les sons "in" et "un" sont différents l'un de l'autre, mais depuis plusieurs décennies on commence à prononcer "un" comme "in" en France particulièrement à Paris. Il en est de même de "ai" qui devrait se prononcer "è" et qui est, de plus en plus, prononcé "é". Moi aussi, je ne dis plus à l'oral "frèzié" mais "frézié"! Notre langue a juste évoluée à l'oral, nous ne prononçons plus les mots de la même manière depuis des années.

My mum would make a simple cheap dessert of sorts and I'll write it the way it sounds as I've never seen the word written and no French person I've met has ever heard of it. It's slicesof apple in pancake patter in a shallow frying pan and it starts on the stove top and gets finished under the grill (dauphinoise) and served with thick pouring creme. Pronounced it is "PES-KA-JUNE" JUNE pronounced like "JUS" (the best and only thing to eat with steak) have u heard or had this? Would your parents perhaps know? My mum was born in 1942 (wow) and I think it was when ingredients were scarce and possibly my Grandma Moome made it what she had to spare.I just love hearing you talk about everything sweet, your voice is like audible chocolate to my ears. Je taime xoxo

@susie2251 4 роки тому
Ticklez Gigidty The description sounds like a clafoutis or flaugnarde which are both desserts made with apples In batter in a pan, and frequently served with cream on the side. But unfortunately those names don’t sound like what you are remembering. I am also wondering if the name has the word “peche” (peach) in it but you say it was made with apples. ETA: Wow, I did not expect this to work but I decided to just google your phonetics of “peskajun” with French dessert and got a few hits for “la pescajoune” or “la pescajoune aux pommes”. It has more of an appearance of a crepe than a clafoutis does. The google search also returned an alternate spelling of “pescajun” for some hits.

There are regional accents in France. People from Normandy will have a tendency to say lé for "lait", while lé exists and is a completely different word, though it's not common (and there is even such a word as lai ^^). People from the South will have a tendency not to drop the e's, and some of them will also make a different sound for un and in, using narrower mouth and nose for un). Btw, Pithiviers is the name of a city, from which the cake is originated."Kouign Amann" means something like butter cake in the Breton language (not a dialect, totally different from French). If you taste one you'll know why! I've heard Americans say lava cake for fondant. Cheers!

First of all, you do superb videos. Don't worry about the naysayers nit picking your French. You are teaching to a crowd that knows no French so if they get it 95% right that is fantastic.

Its weird how when recently I was introduced to this channel by the first pastry video I thought I was watching an American girl who's really good at French and now it feels like I'm watching a French girl who's really good at English. I think its because she was sitting on the floor in the first one, I probably thought it was some college student.

Can someone please tell me what is the actual French name for a chocolate ganache that's made with egg yolks? It's richer in taste than the usual chocolate ganache that's normally incorporated with cream....

I think it's "ganache aux oeufs" but I might be wrong

I pronounce croissant correctly when I order them and whoever I'm with makes fun of me - but that's how it's pronounced! And I found out I have a percentage of French DNA! 🎉🎉🎉😁

tes prononciations de fraise et fraisier sont les bonnes, la phonetique te donne raison en fait... ce ne sont pas les mm E... en tant que parisienne, chocolatine me declenche de l eczema! 😂 et par contre, en tant que bretonne... on prononce le GN de Kouign et c est aman-N comme amande sans le D!

Who knows? Maybe you should ask yourself and not others. Normal people watch these videos to learn how to pronounce words in a particular language, like French in this video.
