As a Muslim girl who has airport trauma, this made me emotional.... they wouldn't tell me, who was 14 years old in a pink outfit holding a pink cellphone with hijab on what I did. They were making my dad and brother go ahead of me to board the plane while they searched me, a minor, in an international flight going back to the US from London. They even looked through my phone. They looked through all my belongings. Finally they made me hold up the plane for a good few minutes and when we entered, I was glared at by everyone on board, like they viewed a teenage girl as a terrorist. They were so flippant and NEVER told me what was wrong. They didn't tell my dad what was wrong. I STILL dont know why at the age of 25 I was stopped, and why I still am stopped, besides being a Muslim girl.

I used to be the only mom in the small neighborhood who was home to put kiddos on the bus. We all stood in a parking lot next to my rural home (its a small park/county building) most parents left their kids with me for the 20 minute bus wait. I would bring this giant bucket of sidewalk chalk and we decorated that whole parking lot unless it was raining or it finally snowed. The kids would have been crushed if some jerk washed it all off on purpose and called it a mess. I did ask the secretary and commissioner before I bought the chalk. They just asked for no swear words or obscene drawing.

I used to work at a primary school and I had to monitor the kids as they got off the busses and make sure they got inside the building. One kid approached me (kindergarten, maybe 1st grade) with a total Karen tone of voice, demanding to speak to the principal because the bus driver yelled at her. I asked why he yelled at her and she said "because he's a mean person". I ask my coworker what to do because I'd never had to submit a complaint from a kid, and my coworker asks this girl what she did to get yelled at. She keeps dodging the question until eventually she says, "I was standing on my seat". Then my coworker says "the bus driver is allowed to give you directions and they may raise their voice if you're not following them or doing something unsafe, like standing on your seat while the bus is moving". Apparently it was quite common for kids to "ask for the manager" after being reprimanded for not following directions. So I'm not sure we have the full story concerning that bus driver. There are mini-Karens out there. 🙃

@hannahsenders6462
@hannahsenders6462 2 роки тому
I was the “bus mom” on my school bus for years. The little kids and bus driver loved me. You can’t expect a bus driver to safely drive your children around and have eyes on the kids at all times. I KNOW that kids don’t care what the bus driver tells them. They stand up on the seats and jump around, walk through the aisle, crawl under the seats, anything you can think they are doing. The bus driver isn’t a teacher so they don’t think they should respect them. Bus drivers usually own their buses and have to pay for all the maintenance needed. Not all bus drivers are good, but most kids aren’t saints either. She definitely shouldn’t have started that conversation that way. She should have asked the bus driver why her kids got yelled at before assuming they didn’t deserve it. All a bus driver can do is yell unless they stop the bus on the side of the road.

Bus drivers are held to a higher standard. There are children around them. This driver was completely in the wrong and - I'm sorry - there is no other side. She is a professional. If she is stressed, she should not be driving as she is endangering each child she transports. I used to be a driver and I was TOLD to NEVER instigate or continue an altercation. You call the base IMMEDIATELY and tell the dispatcher what is happening. They will either contact the other party or the police. Period. Drivers are supposed to be trained to handle altercations. This driver should have been fired immediately. And the mother should be ashamed of herself for egging her on. The mother undoubtedly knows the correct way to handle this type of situation but chose to go this route for likes and followers. I wonder how many she would get filming a crash scene.
@amandaspotz6425
@amandaspotz6425 Рік тому
It's possible the kids are upset bc there are things happening on the bus and the woman's kids aren't necessarily the issue, but some other child is being corrected and those kids are simply near the situation. Did the mom contact the school and request a meeting? If she's got time to record a video, how about taking your kids to school? That's also an option. I'm a single mom and every job I've applied for was always based on if I could get my kids to school and myself to work on time. I've even taken a pay cut and a different job, to make sure I am able to take care of us, including getting to school and work on time, and being able to pick them up after school. Okay that air-port one was just..UGH. Let’s talk about it. That flight attendant seemed to be racist, not gonna lie. When the woman asked specifically why she wasn’t being let on the lady was being sketchy. She may not have the power to know everything but she does know why SHE HERSELF isn’t letting OP on. The bag obviously fit so she was definitely making an excuse, all the excuses definitely weren’t valid. OP said that she specifically was pulled out of the line. Now then, if OP was there long enough to watch the gate close then she definitely have enough time to be asked a second question. The fact the woman got mad at OP for not letting her finish/start her sentence but then never even attempted to ask her the question. The way the supervisor was also quiet about the situation was really odd. Honestly, OP should sue or atleast go into it.
@Amarianee
@Amarianee 2 роки тому
I think the whole thing is odd. People are really quick to jump on the side of the person filming when they pull the race card, but there's been plenty of videos that start at the overescalated part that turned out to have more context behind them about what led up to that point, and it was actually the filmer at fault. To be clear, I'm not saying the gate attendant wasn't racist and profiling, I'm saying the only info we have is the filmer's pov with no actual evidence as to whether or not what she was saying was actually the whole truth. Airline workers (non TSA or security) are trained to handle situations like that one, in the calmest way possible to avoid causing more harm than good when someone's already yelling. As you pointed out, everyone else was already on the plane, which means whatever happened here had been going on for quite a while before the filming began 🤷🏻‍♀️ just something to keep in mind.

@Amarianee 2 роки тому
@@Remyatta I could believe it was a definite possibility but there's nothing in the clip we see that actually confirms that, which is why I'm not comfortable taking either side. The gate attendant didn't do or say anything (that we could hear anyway) objectively racist. I've seen, in person, a very similar situation happen at a Greyhound station, and had the woman only filmed the most heightened portion, it would have _looked_ like the Greyhound lady was being racist (the woman was yelling, "it's because I'm black isn't it?!") When in reality, the employee had been telling her for 10min that she couldn't smoke in the outdoor waiting area and she wasn't allowed to wait in the corralled area without a ticket. By the time it was similar to this situation _she_ was yelling that she wasn't smoking when the worker said, "I told you, you can't smoke here," but she actually still had the cigarette lit and had been walking back and forth with it. The worker was at the point where she stopped responding to her, and her friend (also black) had also yelled at her, telling her she was gonna buy her own ticket, but he wasn't screaming at her the whole time. There were definitely points where, had she had a camera, she could have filmed the situation to make it look convincingly like a racist encounter with a Greyhound employee. There are videos online as well with Uber drivers in the exact same situations, and they lost their jobs only for the full footage to come out later showing the customer didn't tell the whole story and they were the assholes.

Me and my friends sat in the same seats every game for the past 12 years and that's the first time we had seen her at a game so I don't think she has ever been to a game there before. And after that happened she escalated the situation so much that she started to attack us, the team started watching from down the ice, security took her away and the commentator said "and that folks, is an example of a homophobic Karen" and everyone including the players boo'd as she left 😂😂

@@snerixx Trust me schools do JackS*** when people come to them about issues... I should know: Back in my hellementary school days, there were a few teachers “2 in particular (A couple, there last name being Cole, which was very fitting for their hearts) and as for the other, even though he wasn’t nearly as bad, he was still able to make my list” (And 2 IAs, one in particular who was rarely around but was a much bigger bully) that were bullies along with 4 students in particular who were notably worse then the other bullies. I went through a lot, believe me. To top it all off there was this one time when I went to the principal's office to talk to the vice principal about the bullying from the teachers and other students and I was angry, sobbing and the works and I did not hold back on how I felt or on what I was saying, but little did I know that the system for the entire schools speakers was on, so everyone in the entire school heard everything... Now, some of the things that was done to a good friend of mine (Who has Cerebral Palsy), well, she had an instructional assistant (Same one I had) who at times put the lock of her locker on backwards as she was being timed, sometimes also having her wear an intentionally heavy nap sack when she was walking with her crutches when she already had a hard enough time with nothing extra weighing her down, on the odd occasion had her crutches put towards the classroom door so she had to use the desks to balance herself to get to them, one day she slipped and fell in the mud on her way to one of the portables and she was forced to enter the classroom… (As for me, I have roughly 30 regular sized pages with regular sized font single spaced “I think it was around 50 or so before it was edited for me” of a bunch of the BS that happened to me). Anyways, after the schools PA system incident, the bullying got even worse. It did not matter that mom and dad called and tried to help. No one was able to do anything at all for me, nothing (I was a caged animal with no escape/no way to get any kind of help. Even now, emotional abuse is not something that the cops will typically intervene in)... Then one day towards the end of the 7th grade I just snapped completely on one of the bullies, ripped his shirt, tackled him to the ground and would not stop going completely ballistic on him/just absolutely out of control... The lunchroom/recess supervisor who basically did pretty much nothing against emotional bullying ended up pulling us apart and if she hadn't have stepped in then I would not have stopped... The thing about these days is with the internet, social media/etc it just seems like there is a lot more evil stuff going on because it is a lot easier to uncover it, and kids/teens (As well as adults/seniors/etc) need to be encouraged to stand up to bullies (If they can), and to stand up against bullying when they see it happen and to secretly record if things get bad enough (Recording live stream if possible just incase they get caught.having those recording being recorded to some secret place on the web that the victim can have access to those files when and if they ever need them. Recordings that will never be seen/known by the bullies if they do happen to snatch the recorder, if this advanced type of option is even possible). As for the job end of things, with my second last boss he was a real master at manipulation (Could be one of the most vicious to one of the most loving people you have even met on the drop of a dime/flip of a switch) and knew how to pull peoples mental/emotional strings, and believe me when I say that I make a really good target especially during some days when I was the first/only one there where at times there were alcohol and beer bottles over the floor and during those time especially he had the kind of rage that literally shook my body and went right through to my very soul. I was mentally/emotionally trapped there for like 8 years and as such I have lots of stuff that I typed about that job/torments as well as a couple videos I made of shots that I took in secret), there was one time in particular where the boss (A strong guy) took a large post and just chucked it at me in a way so it barely missed me…

Well the AirPort one is probably about the flight being overbooked. That happened to my parents in Paris when they just kept sending them on a different places at the airport until they just missed the flight. Then somebody from the airport staff confessed that the flight they tried to catch was overbooked so my parents just couldn’t fit in. This video really gave me the same feeling. I have a little dog in Florida, he's leashless at home and when there is NO ONE around (like outside or such). If a stranger or a dog or something is nearby in sight, or even wildlife, he gets picked up or leashed. Not only is it extremely dangerous for creatures that your dog could catch, if that dog on leash in video wasn't behaved, it could've whipped around and seriously injured that small dog. 😒 Props to him for being calm and assertive.
@aaamimah
@aaamimah 2 роки тому
So my old dog was adopted by my parents and she had some sort of trauma (we think she was used to rile up the fighting dogs in dog fights) leading to her being kind of aggressive with other dogs. Anyways there was a guy on our street who had a couple small dogs and he wouldnt keep them on leash, and they would always be running around while my dad was walking our dog. And he refused to put them on leash even when my dad told him our dog could be agressive. She never did anything to them but him not leashing up his dogs could’ve gotten his dogs hurt and our dog put down. Also he lived on the corner of a pretty busy street, like what if they got hit by a car? Because they could have. In conclusion put leashes on your dogs folks. By the way in certain places I think it’s completely fine to have your dog off leash, I take my current puppy off leash in the park all the time but we have a leash on hand that we’re ready to put on him if necessary.

But here's the thing, sometimes you don't have time to leash your dog. If a large, aggressive dog is loose and you don't notice or is coming too fast for you to react, then that could be your pet's life. If your pet isn't in your fenced yard or in your home it's safest for your little dog to be leashed or carried. I watched a little dog in the park get torn to shreds by 2 aggressive Rottweilers who escaped their yard about 12 years ago, it was horrific. The owner could do absolutely nothing because the big dogs chased him then picked him up and it was too late. Animals behave unpredictability and they're WAY faster than us.

The fence around the pool had a lock so if u did not live there you could not get in, but, somehow they did. I moved there just for the purpose of the pool. The kids would come one lady even had 8 kids she day cared for & they would all go down to the pool every single day. She'd set them up, then go back to her apartment for a nap. In the meantime, these kids were maniacs. One teen with the kids took her sandals off because they had dog poop on them and washed them in the pool where I was just feet away, daring me to say anything. You can't ignore kids like these.

My neighbor's kids love drawing with chalk. That's totally awesome and I love seeing kids express themselves. But that ends the moment they ignore their own driveway entirely, walk over to my house, and draw on our's and leave their shit all over our yard (skateboards, basketball/soccer ball, helmets, bikes, etc.). This isn't a land dispute problem, they walked across the street to do this. The mom wouldn't even do shit about it, she'd just half-ass an "hey don't do that" and then go back to gardening. Her kids have almost gotten hit by my car multiple times because they thought it was funny to bolt in front of cars. The moment I allowed my puppy to have their soccer ball they left on my lawn, everything stopped and it was magical. The mom is still shitty at being a parent and her friends/possible ex use the middle of the road to park instead of their garage and driveway. EDIT: her kids are now going into my back yard and throwing shit around. Have been doing it for months and we have told them all to stop many times. I just put two and two together on who's kids these are. I might actually have to call the cops on them next time I see them.

In your situation, you are in the right since it's your property, and they are trespassing. From what we see in the video though, that looked to be a small parking lot, which means this most likely took place in an apartment complex While I do think it's unsafe for the mom to let her kids draw in the parking lot it's self, and she should have kept them on the sidewalk, it's still a space that they are allowed to be in. The mom and her kids have every right to be there, and I highly doubt there's anything in their lease that says "you can not draw on the sidewalks/pavement with chalk"

The dog one really gets to me because my local park has the same issue. Morons let their uncontrollable dogs off lead, then do nothing but weakly call out when their dog bothers others and won’t come back. My last dog (a rescue with trauma) was frequently a bit reactive (not fully aggressive though, just proving his dominance) to other dogs when we went walking, but as long as they were on lead it was fine. However, the off-lead ones would rush him and get in his face, which scared him and caused him to react defensively. Then he would be known as the “aggressive dog”, when in reality this was actually just the fault of stupid people who couldn’t control their dogs. It boils my blood.

So typically, I have found in working a TON of customer service jobs, the best way to handle someone who is agitated is to talk softer so they have to quiet down to hear you, plus they feel more ridiculous yelling at someone who is calm in a public setting. Also, treat everyone how you would want to be treated. Catch a lot more flies with honey than with vinegar!! You never know what someone is going thru, & as a consumer, it goes both ways. You don’t know what that clerk is dealing with. And be RESPECTFUL both ways. If we all would take a breath & actually focus on the task at hand it would get done quicker & easier. And do NOT go silent as that just makes ppl more angry. And do NOT lie! Just be upfront & honest & usually there is less resistance.

With the bus driver, the mom should call the school and let them know so they can talk to the driver. If nothing changes then she can talk to the bus company. It's totally possible the driver is being strict to keep the kids safe and they are interpreting it as her yelling and being mean. I had a strict driver when I was in elementary school and lots of kids were scared of him because he would call kids out for misbehaving and he would pull over until they quit. But coming to the stop to yell at the driver is not going to help anyone, and she could be harder on the kids now because the mom ticked her off. Edit: im pretty sure school buses have at least 1 camera so they can easily check to see how the driver and kids are behaving and also if she really flipped the mom off.

So after 10 minutes a lady with a black poodles comes walking down my road and because I like talking to people when she walked past I said “ Hi your dog is so cute, whats it’s name?” And she replied with nothing, so I was like, Maybe she doesn’t talk to strangers that’s fine but then she just out of the blue says. “ Your dog should be on a leash you know, it might hurt mine.” Like what? My dog loves people and is very protective of people and aggressive towards dogs. (He is a quarentine puppy and I am working on his socilization but it takes time.) I took him to PetSmart recently and a dog got loose and ran right up to my dog. Because of the head collar I was able to make absolutely sure I could keep my dog's face away from the other dog which very well might have saved all four of us from a horrible situation. KEEP YOUR DOGS ON LEASHES IN PUBLIC!! It is for their safety as well as for the safety of other dogs. But I would definately record the behavior, and the flipping off is definately firable since it looked like elementary school kids. And I have a feeling she doesn't just get that angry at that parent, or do obscene things like that just in front of that parent. So, if the parent had already tried to contact the school about it (I know my schools all preached no bullying but I was bullied since 2nd grade and often punished for it because I couldn't cry on command like my bully could) she's 100% in the right.

It’s so crazy how when you were getting mad at the bike guy it sounded exactly like the Karen’s in your skits, but you weren’t just being dramatic and blowing things out of proportion.

the pool video. the mother coming up to her daughter in the pool and telling her it’s time to go 😭😭 I’d probably either leave or tell that entitled lady to screw off.

Nah, idc about cords, it's not a big deal like you said. I would be surprised if somebody was upset over just a cord😂😂 unfortunately, I have been surprised with many things that are "such a big deal" to act over where they're not

That airport one pisses me off! I couldn't imagine trying to get somewhere, especially for a funeral and they're denying you over something stupid!

I remember when I was in middle school I had this one bus driver who gave everyone assigned seats. There were these two girls who wanted to sit together so one of them, I don’t even remember her name but i’ll just call her Megan, asked the bus driver if they could. She said yes and the next morning the two girls sat next to each other and the bus driver i guess had forgotten she told them they could and was like hey those aren’t y’all’s assigned seats and Megan got pretty aggressive and reminded her of what she told them. The bus driver then remembered she had said that so she apologized and let them sit next to each other but for some reason Megan called her mom to complain very loudly about the bus driver. That afternoon, when the bus driver stopped at Megan’s stop to let the kids off Megan’s mom walked on the bus and started yelling at the bus driver causing a scene. The bus driver remained calm and told her if she didn’t get off she would call the cops. Eventually the mom got off without the driver needing to call the police but I will just never understand the mindset of these people.

14:24 that's because she was likely already putting in info for security/supervisor, making it look like she was reviewing her boarding pass again. I'm only suspicious of this video because of when the recording started. There's a LOT of context missing here. With the amount of videos that start at the overescalated part (rather from the very beginning), then turned out to be the fault of the person who was filming, I don't think we can really make a solid judgment without seeing what actually started the situation.

I agree, I could see both scenarios: one where the airline was being ridiculous and one where the lady missing her plane was being ridiculous. You really can't tell from the video.
