I do a lot of fishing with occasional overnight camping and sitting in the shelter while the wind and rain batters down outside is one of my favourite and most relaxing times when we’re out. Have a cup of tea or coffee, chat with who I’m out with, something hot to eat, listen to the rain and other sounds of nature, watch the rain bounce on the water, enjoy the general peace and quiet and solitude. Go nuts and watch a movie on the smartphone if the weathers bad for a long time.

I love when my youtube friends want to go camping when it's raining. I listen to a rain,thunderstorm at night to go to sleep by. I love it when people want to go out in the rain. My favorite tent is a free standing tent. Is that a new tent or one your just trying out. Let it rain,let it pour,you've been out in the rain before. I miss seeing susie. Amen to that. After a day of rowing a canoe, bathing in a cool river, setting up camp, cooking over a fire and going to sleep in a tent during a rain shower the sleep is incredible. Earl, you just made me want to take another canoe trip.

My camping trip was good. My tent was the flip pop tent. Went I woke on Saturday morning the tent was covered in ice and frost. But I was nice and warm. Dennis from Delaware

Looked like a nice tent. I love big tents. 10/12 person, but a lot better options in the 2/4 person range for weather proof and storm resistance. Thanks for keeping the great info coming!!

That would be a good nights sleep, love the sounds of rain on metal(tin) roof or tent, we had old cars in our back lot when I was growing up and nights not a school night I could sleep in old wagon fun when racing could hear it all night long it was like lullaby, hung towels and blankets over windows so other could not look in of course cars still had locks in them

We got a 4 man tent we took out this last June. Not a Wildlands tent. When we pitched it was dry. We went to play some cards, fell asleep and woke up to a water bed. Talk about an awesome tent bath tub. There was probably 4-5" of water under the tent. It was like being on a 1970's water bed. It did have one leak in the fly by the vent, possibly two. When we called CS they wanted us to send the whole tent back. All we needed was the fly exchanged. It wasn't that it was a matter of poor customer service, it just seemed like a waste of shipping costs. When we take the tent out again, we can fix the leak hopefully ourselves.

R my husband did not understand (didn’t grow up camping) why I insisted on setting up our new tent in the yard, spraying it with water, drying it, sealing the seams and repeating until zero leaks. I was so meticulous just like dad taught me. Then we set up tent in crater lake area. Before bed I dug a ditch around the base to funnel the water away. Just like dad taught me. We slept snug and dry in pouring rain. The next morning my husband came back from the bathroom and said, did you know that some people’s tents leaked last night? I’m like, yeah remembered you didn’t understand all that work at home before hand. That’s why we were dry.

Great review! I'm not sure how much more reviewing you need to do seeing that it passed the 24 hour rain test...lol. I don't think the majority of us are planning a camp out for more than a day or two during a monsoon, but you do you and help us out. :) It really looks like a good tent, and I especially like that you can sit up inside. I don't own a one man tent even though I only tent camp solo, just because I need a little extra room, and this looks awesome.

Looks like a Naturehike Star River 2 tent. You can get mesh repair that you use a hairdryer on. I have used it to repair one of my tents. Thanks for the review.

Looks very much like the MSR Hubba Hubba. When it's raining, I set the pole framing up first, using the ground mat to anchor the corners. Then throw the rain fly over the frame and secure with pegs. It then lets me clip the inner without getting it wet. It also looks like it is free standing and can be repositioned before final staking out of the vestibules.

Beautiful area you set up in. Pretty righteous tent. The two doors makes it a honest two person tent - don't have to step over a body to get out. The last time I slept in a two person tent was when I went deer hunting . . . didn't get a wink of sleep as the deer paid me no mind and kept scrogging throughout the night. God they were loud.

Another excellent review start. I ordered the tent the other day in Grey. 5 extra D over the green. HH of 3000mm is more than enough and you are right, the pegs are small. Not really an issue tbh. I will use heavy duty 9 inch nail pegs as they go through very stoney ground easily and for when under trees, they will go through the roots easy enough. Looking forward to my first solo camp once it arrives. Cheers Luke

Just a thought. You could use a rain gauge outside of the tents that you test so that you could get a true reading of how much rain they withstood. Excellent video. I look forward to more tests.

Luke, been following for a long time. For me my focus right now is weight. I have camping tents, but for backpacking, must be under 3 pounds. Finally settled on a tarp and bug net combo, 2.5 pounds with stakes and rope. Anything over 3 pounds is for the car. Peace!

Good review. I just bought NatureHike Star River 2 a few days ago. Looks identical but only has 1 vent and no vent zip for £155 and so far I really like it. For 1 person it's plenty of space. It's been raining here in UK for days now as well. I left my new tent in the garden in the rain for 4 days now and I slept 2 nights in there, absolutely love it 😄

You hoped we get to spend time camping during rain. On a tour in 2016 I woke up to rain, it occasionally slowed but never stopped the entire day when I went to sleep it was still drizzling. It was in the 40's but I still managed to cycle 60 miles that day. Similar thing happened a few days later.
