The man understands what's up with his elderly neighbor. He's being firm but fair with her. He's a gentle , kind soul who wants to soothe her issues in a gentlemanly way. His mama taught him right.

Someone needs to buy the little old lady some really good black out curtains. i have a street light and a store sign outside my bedroom window and i tell you those curtains made a HUUGE difference. I want to buy more for when i have a migraine

We bought some when our new neighbors moved in. We live in the middle of farmland and its dark at night. They are afraid of the dark. They put motion detection lights all around their house. We asked if they could kindly just tilt the one set towards the ground as we sleep second floor. That sucker went on and off all night long. The husband did and his wife was such a "see you next Tuesday "she went out and aimed them both right back at our windows. We both have like 2 or more acres of land. I swear she also got higher powered ones too. But they finally moved out (they were grandson and wife of prior couple there that were like my aunty and uncle. They sold to the other granddaughter and her new husband and its was like night and day. They have been there for 11(maybe more) years and are the nicest most lovely couple you'll ever meet. Her cousin(first set) told them the most horrible things about us like how we were always in yard and feeding their dog and just on and on. Well my new neighbors were like. Naw. Shes just an awful bitch and came straight over for the tea! Lol Guess no one in the family likes her at all. I grew up with their parents as the grandparents were best friends with mine. And I bought my mom house. I watched them get married and have 2 adorable boys that watch me all the time through the fence (they have big dogs) and when they go out of town I watch the puppies and when I go out of town they run over and help feed the chickens. Hell their boys call me the jeep grammy and help me wash my 1998 wrangler and slide down the hill in my back yard in winter. Sometimes all it takes is some good communication. Also with my first and now second round of cancer(doing great ) when ever I need help. Even just opening my protein shake bottles, I text and one of them meets me half way. We got so lucky. Id cry if they left . Its like having extra family right next door.❤

for the first one: I have neighbors who have flood lights in the driveway that seem to stay on all night (or at least a good portion of it), and it shines right into my living room. Is it annoying? Absolutely. But all I have to do is close the blinds. Problem solved. Could I have gone over there and said their light is shining right into my living room? Yes. Would it really have accomplished anything? No. It looks like that woman was lonely more than anything and was trying to find a reason to talk to people. I guess what I don't get is, why didn't she go over during the day and talk to them? For the second one, did anyone else notice the rep has a medication bottle in front of him? Maybe it's something to keep him calm so he doesn't snap and respond to the clients the way they're talking to him. Makes sense with what customer service people have to put up with all day.

I doubt they're "calm down" pills, I can't imagine a call center would hire someone who needs medicine to not snap at people, I've been turned around from jobs due to my BPD and had to end up keeping it secrets from my future employers.

I agree with the assessment that the older woman might have been lonely. She might also have been scared, & that's the reason she went over at 1 AM. Maybe she heard a noise or woke up from a nightmare, & being alone, was terrified. Now she knows that she can go over to her neighbor's house if she thinks something is wrong. Not that she would go over to his house but, knowing she CAN, is a tremendous relief to her.

He was very kind to the old lady (in the 1st clip.) I agree that she could be lonely 🙁 I work in outreach for the local community and, just by talking to people, I've discovered that loneliness is a big issue for (particularly elderly) individuals who live on their own. As a result, my colleague and myself are working with a couple of community members to help set up a daily meeting. It will be for people who are lonely, or isolated, or who just want a chat. It's going to be for a couple of hours during the day. My hope is that the group will take off and be a good resource for the local community. I'm hoping that tea/coffee can be provided. We can but try 😉 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I do customer service for a bank. We are allowed to hang up on abusive customers without warning. Thankfully, it's a rare occurrence. The first time it happened to me, the call went on for ten minutes. My manager outright said that was nine minutes too long. One of the reasons I much prefer it to customer service in retail. You will not get your way with the bank because you scream at the teller (or in my case, the phone agent).
@ZombieMinion1992
@ZombieMinion1992 5 місяців тому
It's true. My manager wont put up with people acting crazy. If you threaten our staff you strongly risk getting your accounts closed down and getting mailed a check for your life savings. I've seen it happen a few times where a customer gets unhinged and management has to shut things down and tell them they are no longer welcomed.
@samwebb3577
@samwebb3577 4 місяці тому
My managers basically said the same thing for in person customer service. I've straight up spun around and walked away from a customer because he was yelling because im 1 person doing 6 things, and his was the last one I was called to do. He went to my manager. Manager asked for an explanation. I told her that I straight up said "if you continue like this, I will not help you" which made him angrier. And he left, with no help. My job is not to do what you want me to do. It's not my job to shop for you, it's not my job to be your personal info holder of products and I'm not a punching bag. However, we sell all kinds of products to help you with those. But you aren't paying my wages, so you don't get to decide what my job is.

I worked at a bank for 7 years. One time I was working front desk and a lady comes asking for help and while I was helping her she calls me a dumbass. So I just said "Im not helping you" and walked away. She went on screaming to the manager and (he knew I treated the customers with respect and had patience) he asked me what was the real deal. I told him she called me that way and he kicked her out. I dont know if this story has much to do with the video but you made me remember that day.

I love it when customers get all crazy on the phone. They are totally unaware that they are being mocked the whole time. I've had jobs where we would often have to mute so we could laugh. I worked in phone banking. For example those people go insane if you don't let them do things like kite checks like they usually do BECAUSE IT'S ILLEGAL. They would seriously call up and yell at us for not letting them break the law while also admitting to a crime.

I was recently on the other side of this. I have state insurance and they have what is called “navigation partners” I picked a local one off the list, called, and they were laughing all mad like I was stupid bc “navigation partners aren’t a thing there and this is a dentist”. The google listing didn’t say dentist. It said health center x road. And when I said then y’all need to contact google and fix it, she laughed again and said “that’s not how it works”…i was peeved bc I worked in an office and that IS how it works. If ur doctor office moves locations, changes names, it’s the job of the business to update it. My mom worked in an office in a completely different industry many times and that’s how it works. I literally called her out. I was like you’re laughing at me as if this is my fault when fact of the matter is no where does it indicate dentist. And moreover if y’all aren’t navigation partners, might wanna report that to the state bc THATS HOW THAT WORKS TOO!!! I literally hung up bc WTAF. Edit: read the reviews for the company from my call and it tracks so hard. I feel so validated bc sadly I’m not alone. This place is awful

The first one I was just so touching how they came to an agreement. The apartment building I live in is shaped like the letter C so it isn't all that uncommon for us to run into each other daily. The guy and the older lady remind me of the one guy and his girlfriend that live here on the second floor and the elderly lady that lives next to me on the first floor. She has a bit of a broken filter at times and comes across a bit harsh...I have been here almost 14 years so I am used to it plus I help her with anything she needs....the guy upstairs though is so funny about how he responds to her when she is in a tizzy....he is just super calm about whatever she is complaining about on any given day but will be the first one if he sees her pull in the parking lot after grocery shopping go and grab all her bags and help her put the stuff away.

I'm not sure about the McDonald's one. We don't know what actually happened. The man filming didn't hear the event from the way he's talking-he's asking is that what happened basically and asking them which employee it was. I think he's actually just stirring things up worse and making a tense situation into a nightmare. But as far as what happened, I just don't think we have any solid info. Everyone keeps repeating the smack my daughter line without any kind of clarification at all. And no one is letting the employees say anything without interrupting every 30 seconds to repeat the smack my daughter thing. It was really weird.

People need to learn how to say, "I'm sorry. I apologize." No one is perfect so it isn't a hit on your self-image or self-worth, to admit that you were wrong. Matter of fact, it will garner more respect from others, when you acknowledge your own mistakes. I have been in heated discussions with clients, & the minute I said, "I apologize for my mistake & the inconvenience that it has caused you", the whole tone of the conversation became neutral. Not many people are willing to admit their mistakes, but as I said, "No One Is Perfect."

I think the lady at the drive thru was either harassing the employees or the driver for cash. We see it all the time at gas stations here. They hastle people for cash but if people offer them food they flip out because they want the cash for drugs. They say it is for food but they just want cash for drugs. So some people refuse to ever give cash, and only offer the food. The people who need it can take it, but the people who don't and act rude usually are liars. I don't blame the woman for filming once things got weird, there was someone literally standing at the window probably after the driver had ordered their food. Now days everyone records just to feel like they are a bit safer or have proof when something bad happens.

The 1st lady reminds me of a patient my mum had at her nursing home. The patient had regular sun-downing and wouldn't go to bed because the patient was waiting for her aunt to pick her up. Now, the aunt had been long dead, and to stop the patient from getting heartbroken from telling her, mum would tell her, "your aunt's given us a call. She's running a bit late but she's asked us to get you into bed for when she arrives." The patient would then happily go to bed. No mental distress happening, no fighting or arguing. Mum had been working in nursing homes since she was 16 so she knew the tricks of the trade. Mum doesn't work in nursing homes anymore. She's now a carer for my sister's sons, one of them with a tracheostomy. Mum had training to use suction to clear out phlegm, as well as change the trachy every so often.

And also let them know that I would not allow them to abuse me or any of my agents. I only had to hang up on maybe 10 customers ever. You have to think of an elderly relative calling the customer service and handle them that way.

He should get her some blackout curtains and help her install them. I have light sensitivity and need blackout curtains PLUS an eye mask. Even a small light from any kind of electronics in my room seems to light up the whole room. With all that said, I'm not about to go knocking on people's doors. 😂

I worked at an in bound call center for a Bank. People used to overdraw their accounts with stupid things and it was clearly their fault but I got cussed out sooo much. I had a lady even threaten to come to my house. I advised her that she didn't know where I lived but I had her address and phone number on a screen in front of me. Be nice to those that are in customer service, whether that is as a cashier, wait staff, whatever it may be because if it wasn't for them then how would we get things done!!!! We wouldn't !!!! So next time one of you entitled people throw out how someone is working a $14 an hour job because if they didn't Karen how would you get your damn Starbucks!

Ma’am we are already at a fast food drive thru for whatever reason; neither of us are making great decisions. Ive had a guys approach me at a taco bell drive thru i offer him an order; he said he wanted money i had zero cash nor do I open a wallet on the street. He then saw a Red Bull open on my cup holder asked for a Red Bull- sadly it was an empty from the week before- again not great choice on my end dietarily. I offered a couple tacos from my order he still said no. Sorry oh well weird day

Don’t worry girl I’ve been super inconsistent recently. Basically I only sub to people if I’m willing to watch every single video (short and any video posted after I sub) and since going on a vacation I’m barely on my phone so I feel like I’m not being a loyal subscriber even though I feel like most people don’t do this (Btw I’m subscribed to A LOT of people not like 10 or 20 but way more

Tell the lady to buy heavier drapers, for her windows. That's what I did, so neighbors could keep their lights on. We don't have any street lights. So, house lights are the only ones.

I have some thoughts on the 3 fast food stories... maybe I'm off-base on a couple of these, but IDK... [Subway Karen] - Completely unsurprising. It happens so commonly in retail that they'll insist you're wrong, then when they've been proved otherwise, will not only not apologize, but also try to find a way to justify that they're right still somehow. It actually goes hand in hand with the call-center story as well that, once they're heated like they are, the person they're talking to is their target. They'll go off and won't show any remorse. It's entitled behavior that is just all over in retail/service. [Drive-Thru] - Considering that the comments state that she's known in the area and the context of the video, my takeaway from this is that the woman begs for money in the area and *might* be homeless. The reason I say "might be" is that the video implies that the person in the car offered to get the woman food and turned her down, specifically wanting cash. Because the woman likely only had debit or credit and offered to buy her some food is likely what led up to what transpired in the video. If the employees were calling the police (as they assumed), it's likely because the woman is well-known to them at this point and has caused problems in the past. Considering she threatened to shoot the person in the car for saying "Why didn't you take the food?" is likely why. She may have mental health issues and have caused altercations in the area or she does this when she doesn't get actual cash. It's hard to say if she just wanted the money instead of food to buy other things or if she is actually not homeless and is trying to scam people (which is an unfortunate reality), which is why she got aggressive when she didn't get the money itself. Either way, it does appear that woman has a reputation and it looks like she was only after money, not food. [McSmack] - I have a feeling the person filming the event was with the man and his daughter. I also question the girl's... "demeanor". She goes from crying (seemingly in hysterics) to nothing and back the moment the attention is on her directly. I can't obviously say for sure if she had mental health issues, was somewhat sensitive or it was an act. However, considering how the rest of the people in the area were reacting, something definitely seems off. The fact that nobody seems to be on the father's side beyond his daughter or the cameraman is definitely odd, especially when the older guy just tells them off like he did. Also, why would a random employee threaten to "smack" the girl? Did she mishear the person or maybe heard a conversation and think it was about her? Could they have said something that set off the employee and got upset when they received push-back? Either way, something about the whole situation seems VERY strange and without the full story, we can't know for sure.

Yeah, the "McSmack" one seemed super suspicous. Like the family and camera person were trying to set set something up. Just seemed super off. Especially with the way the employees were at first listening and then sort of realized the crying family was trying to pull a scam.

We get a lot of people who beg saying they need cash for food but if you offer them food they freak out. It's almost always about drugs when they start lying or acting super eratic.
