Same…I’m scared but my life…my love is wrestling. So much wrestling has helped. Eddie Guerrero is an inspiration. Hearing Kevin Nash’s words about his son. My aunt saying I’ve seen people die before 40 from alcohol. Waking up asking God please help me. I’m trying so hard to phase alcohol out of my life. Last night was ROUGH. Every fiber of me was say drink up. But my soul was saying no! This song is helping too…rather ironic considering Tom was a wrestler.

Keep it up! I too am sober finally. I had a 23 year long gnarly Opiate addiction. Which began at 14 with My father feeding me prescription pain pills. I got sober at 37. I am now just over a year fully clean and sober. And I still am in a program and I go to my outpatient clinic 4x a week still! I started at 7 days a week. Very slowly allowed for tiny bits of more freedom. I think I’ll work a program of one kind or another for the rest of my life. Which is overwhelming at times to think too deeply about. But considering the absolute hell I survived in for the first half of my life this should be looked at as a blessing not a curse. It saved my life. I was praying every single night to not wake up the next day. I wanted to die I had become so depressed and trapped. But now my life is slowly getting better and better. I just wanted to tell you I know your pain. I understand the struggle. As well as the blessings That all come at you at once when you change your life and stop using and have to face everything head on that u have avoided or swept under the rug for so long. It sounds like your on an amazing path now! ❤

I drink because of work. How I really wanna put this kid on his back. I hate my morning job. Today was pushing 30 hours no sleep. Morning job didn’t help at all. I hate calling in. Night job is ironically a liquor store. I’m really trying to stop drinking. I feel like I’m fighting for my life. The people at the liquor store have been nothing but kind to me & for that I can’t thank them enough. A coworker at the liquor store is a worse drinker than me. I’d like to help him stop but I know he won’t.

We have to learn to ok with being alone... We learn by doing. I love AA. through AA I have a tight support group, of friends I can reach out to and not feel so alone. I love my AA family , even though I came in because of meth addiction. They loved me through it. Now when I call enough of my Real friends, my clean and sober friends, one always answers. That's a fact. I did that over and over...during the moment of weakness I'd scramble to get back in touch with my plugs. I had to delete every number in my phone 4 times before it was over.

I didnt delete the numbers u til I called them all and told them I was done. I said not to call me if they wanted to drink or use, but they could call if they wanted to talk about sobriety. Not a single one called me after that, but 2 of my closest friends did die....one was drunk and high running from the cops, and he literally crashed and burned, had a closed casket. Then his brother OD'ed a couple years later while out on daytime work release, then went to sleep at the halfway house that night and never woke up. Still hurts when I think that they didnt listen all tgise times I tried to help them.

I locked myself in my apt. Changed ph #'s & never answered the door except for deliveries for the 1st 3 yrs. 17 yrs later...I'm still clean & still shocked by it 😎

Turn to Jesus, He is the answer. Believe and have Faith that He is your Savior

people say minute by minute but keep in mind some days it is second by second. find anything you can right now to sidetrack your mind. I don't know you but you're in my thoughts addiction is hard. A Lot of people say it is simple to stay sober and guess what they are right but its not easy to stay sober it is nothing but hard work every second of every day. It does get easier as time goes on. 15 years clean!

My brother in law, someone I consider to a brother to me than my own brother, he drank himself to death too.. it killed me when he died.. i also had a good friend that I helped to get clean, and after Hurricane Katrina, he went back to drugs and OD. I think I cried for a month.. this song says and proves, your true friends will b there for u when u need them the most..
