As a trans person, something that drives me crazy about how conservatives talk about the concept of being trans is that they always treat statements like "trans women are women" as if it means "trans women are exactly the same as cis women and trans people want you to lie to them about this because they're delusional/lying to themselves." I have never met a trans person who doesn't acknowledge that they're physically different from a cis person of the same gender, but conservatives have such a black-and-white view of what gender is that they don't understand that stuff like HRT and gender-affirming surgeries aren't about "trying to become a cis person". My father (chemical engineer), had an even more dynamic career ending as President of Enron. They are not wild-eyed liberals---no mid to high-level business execute is. My Dad as been a self-professed Independent his whole life. They are very much political centrists with a heavy dose of corporate business life.
