You just threw that nugget of knowledge about curing in water first in there mid-sentence; this is vital info. Please make a video about your cleaning and curing process.

Hello, for some reason my prints are failing or the + looks like it has too much resin when it cures. What are your settings for the print? I'm printing on a photon mono x

How do you clear out the structure supports on the keycap so it can fit on the keyboard switch

I found its better to remove the supports BEFORE curing the pieces, while they're still soft. That way they're easier to remove and leave less imperfections

to add to this, you can use a craft knife or something else sharp to remove the bumps before curing (if there are any) as well, so there's less of a chance of something like what happened to Grogu's ear taking place. I've heard people say that soaking the prints in warm/slightly hot water for a short time can drastically reduce the number of bumps and pits, but I keep forgetting to try it

Great video, I always have problems with the margins when fitting resin printed keycaps on switches, have hard time to get a good fit, I'll try your model, got the same printer as you so hopefully will fit. Would it be possible for you to provide the STEP file for the key without any logo, so I could put my own icons ontop of it in Fusion?

Also - the margins on mine seem a bit tight at first so you kind of have to press them on the switch to clear the path but then after that it’s pretty smooth and tight

@@CASSDesigns Thank you, I can find STL of the basic keycap but not STEP for it, would you mind sharing the STEP as it's easier to work with in Fusion?

Think spyderfarms lights are suffice to ensure a cure? Also what kind of paint did you use.

I’m not sure, as long as it’s decently bright UV you should be good. And I used “the army painter war games minister paint set”

There might be a support going to it, go to your slicer and check and if there is then remove that support. If not, you might have some trapped resin when you cure it that’s solidifying in the little +, go in with a toothpick and clear it out and make sure you rinse it well in IPA before curing in UV

There are printers with two heads that let you use separate color filaments on your prints, but I didn’t have one at the time of making this video

I use the free version for everything I do - but for merging files I use something in the windows store called 3D builder - also free, I show that method in another video on this channel
