Thank you again for making 2+2=4.I’ve listened to numerous Protestant preachers and others trying to make the Gog and Magog battle happen twice. And yes how many will it take to Bart all the dead. I'd be curious to hear you elaborate on leviathan and behemoth as being "metaphors for cosmic darkness" and NOT dinosaurs. A surface reading of Job's description makes it very clear that leviathan is a fire-breathing dragon. He's a truly fearsome dinosaur in every sense of the word. Yet when I delve deeper into the narrative history of leviathan and behemoth, it becomes clear that they ALSO comprise a binary force of mythic evil. I don't think it's wise to separate the two narrative tracks into an either/or choice. Each is true. Both Ken Ham and Michael Heiser are correct. For my part, I think it makes the text that much more compelling when we accept that there might not be a clear delineation between metaphors for cosmic darkness and giant earthly lizards. We want to imagine that the unseen realm is cordoned off from our physical world, that its terrifying monsters can't break through and harm us. We imagine this, even as we stare at the physical manifestations of those very monsters. We ought not make the text conform to our quaint notions of how things are. Let it say what it says.

I don’t see how a 1000 year period can be a random period of time. Also, this reign references the saints who overcame the beast reigning with Christ and the beast did not appear yet. If you also read Isaiah 11 and Zechariah 14, it implies a physical Messianic reign on earth by Jesus.

I agree. Need a full revelation breakdown. Though hearing Michael state the difficulties i see why he tries to minimize it. I’ve been trying to work out who gog is for a while, love the topic it’s so confusing and controversial but my 2 cents is this: gog is a “chief prince” like Michael is a chief prince this means much like the prince of Grecia or the prince of Persia as spoken of in Dan 10 gog is a principality over a certain geographical area as Michael is prince over Israel so as Mike points out this geographical area is the majority of turkey and into the surrounding areas east and north of turkey or Asia Minor interesting to me that this is where civilization would’ve began again after the flood and then the migration of the people into the area of Babel for the first world rebellion maybe gog was the principality overt the first world empire in rebellion against God as he will also be the principality over the last world empire that will rebel against God led by the Antichrist.... revelation 20 makes it clear gog is no human

Ok is it possible that Gog is a member of the heavenly host? That would clear up a lot. Is there a scripture that says the Antichrist is human? I know he has human attributes. Could Gog be an angel, the spirit of iniquity that someone restrains? Then you could have two separate wars of Gog and Magog 1000 years apart. Ezekiel called him a prince. I thought princes and principalities referred to the heavenly host. Thanks for clarifying.

The key is the parallelism and chaiasmus. Established in creation and by the cornerstone and pivot point of the cross. Revelation has chaismus and chronologically linear narration.

1:56:20 - in the original Greek, the word for 'thousand' is in the plural, and there is no indefinite article 'a'. So a plain reading would render it 'for thousands years' unless I am missing something about the Greek. They did not use numbers to precede 'thousand' I understand. Anybody? Love your work Dr., but I am disappointed you didn't finish ch 39. It speaks of God's people who died by the sword and being returned from exile. This is an important factor in the timing of this prophecy.

I agree with you this is day of the Lord vocabulary. But scripture says in that day the elements will melt with fervent heat that the earth and all that is in it will be burned up and that we will see a new heavens and new earth. That must take place after the thosand years and the white thrown judgment because there is never to be unrighteousness in the new world. It seems then the day of the Lord goes on for some time. If so why put Gog Magog at the outset rather than were John puts it?

Dr Heiser states the Day of the Lord as being the second advent, and structures his hypothesis upon this foundation. However, the Day of the Lord is an advent of God upon Man. 1. The judgement upon Egypt at the hand of Babylon - Jer 46:2, 10, 13 2. Judgement upon the false prophets of Judah at the hand of Babylon - Ezek 13:5, 16 3. Judgment upon Egypt at the hand of Babylon - Ezek 30:3, 13 4. Judgment upon Judah at the hand of Babylon - Joel 1:6, 11, 13 5. Judgement upon the northern 10 tribes at the hand of Assyria - Amos 5:18, 20, 27, 28 And a dozen more references to judgement upon Israel, judgement upon the nations, first advent, second advent. The salient flaw with equating all ‘Days of the Lord’ as one, however, is anchoring the Rev 20 judgment upon Gog&Magog at the Second Advent. The Rev 20 judgment executed upon Gog&Magog is by fire from God the Father out of heaven. The Rev 19 judgement executed at the Second Advent is by the Lord Jesus with the double edged sword which proceeds out of His mouth. 2 different events. The Rev 20 judgment is rightly placed just prior to 2Pet 3:10... the Day of the Lord whereby the earth is burned up and a New a heavens and New Earth are created - Isa 66:17; 2Pet 3:13; Rev 21:1 Conflating the Ezek 38&39 Gog&Magog wars with Rev 20 judgement upon Gog&Magog forces the text beyond what it says. I believe the simpler point is the Day of the Lord describes not only the Second Coming but the eternal extension of Christ’s forever reign from both this age of heaven and earth and then into the new heavens and earth at White Throne Judgment. Thus, Jesus wiping out the beast kingdom at the 7th Bowl of God’s Wrath transcends into His millennial reign and the final judgement of Satan Himself where death is defeated. As Paul writes, the last enemy to be defeated is death=at the second death judgement (Rev 20) whereas those in Christ have already had the victory over death at the First Resurrection/Harpazo at the Last Trumpet (7th Trumpet) a thousand years prior... A key here is Peter’s OT quote, one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day... It’s all the Day of the Lord from the opening of the 7th Seal until the new heavens and earth-which I would then call by the text description as the “eternity of the Lord” where death is forever defeated and cast into the Lake of Fire...

Clearly, Ezekiel gives us information, and Revelation gives us MORE information in better detail. It's not that hard, folks. Let the Bible tell you what it wants to tell you. Armageddon war, second coming. Bind Satan thousand years, Christ rule on Earth. Satan let out for unknown time to deceive nations, Gog Magog. Elements burn away with a fervent heat, new heaven and new earth. --> Made it here? You are blessed. No one really knows the good things God has for us from this point on.

But John is not the author of Revelation - Jesus is the author of Revelation and John writes down what is revealed to him.

There is a GOGlandia in Georgia, which is right next door to Turkey(approx 150 miles East from its border). Also Georgia at one time was a part of Russia(not necessarily meaning something but).. This is not the same as the Gogland many speak of (which Putin was born) or the Island Gogland either, which is very far north near Finland. There seem to be a lot of "GOG" throughout areas north of Turkey, so why couldn't it be any of these candidates, seeing they are literally labeled "GOG" in some way shape or form and seemingly there are no "GOG"s in other places around the world. The Georgia one seems to fit quite well seeing its actually in that region and they have their name literally spelled this way GOGlandia, with the GOG capitalized.

Is it literal or symbolic ? my answer is....yes. sometimes it is both ! Let me prove that to you - Galatians 4: 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. Sarah was a literal person. She was also symbolic based on the scripture . Hagar was a literal person. She was also symbolic based on the scripture. Not everything is both but some things are. Moses was a literal person but he is also symbolic of the law. It does not have to be one or the other. It can be one or it can be both. We should keep that in mind as we study prophecy.

So rev 20 7 says after the thousand yrs Satan released and he gets the nations gog and magog... so how is this the same event as Ezekiel 38 39 which you say happens at the 2nd coming...the day of the Lord is a thousand yr period in which a lot happens

Is seems Gog is one of the sons of God judged in psalms 82 to whom God charged with running/managing certain pieces of the earth after they were divided up at the tower of babel. A regular human cant show up in the current and latter days (end times). God judged them in Psalms 82 and said that they will die like men for how they managed the nations and Ezekiel 39: 10 apparently provides the prophecy account of Gog dieing like a man and gets buried like a man in the later days (place to be called Harmon Gog which means alley of the multitudes of Gog) after the devil/dragon is released from the pit post his 1000 years in the pit... The devil/dragon compels the nations and Gog to go against Israel and Gog gets crushed. According to Revelation 20: 7-8 Gog + nations including Magog dont attack Israel until AFTER the 1000 years after the devil/dragon is imprisoned. So it seems to me that people should be worrying about the "Scarlet" Beast before they worry about Gog. Thoughts?

Great Teaching... So glad you lay out Gog and Magog as described in Rev 20... This is exactly what it is and when it is... Ezekiel 37-39 has other clues like being in the latter of the days and Israel dwelling peacefully... Peter also connects the New heavens and earth to the day of the Lord--reminding us that with God One day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day... The day of the Lord commences with the Seven Seals-as the 7th Seal holds the 7 Trumpets and 7 Bowls then extends into the 1000 year Millennial Reign with Gog and Magog being Satan’s final demise and final battle (Rev 20 & Ezk 37-39) The wedding feast of the Lamb is Christ taking back the earth at the battle of Armageddon (fought at Mt. I agree Rosh doesn't have anything to do with Russia,but the argument you invoke is absurd. You compare words in different languages, but you seem to forget that you are talking about phisical places, not verbes or adjectives. For example, the land of "America" is written, spoken and read "America" in all languages. This goes for nearly all names of places or cities or countries or whatever geographic locations.

hmmm, this vid was posted May of this year. Today is November 20, 2018. I always used to wonder how on earth Russia was going to get a bunch of troops through the countries along the way, to be able to invade Israel from the north. I don't wonder now though. As I type this , Russia is sitting in Syria, on Israel's northern border. Earlier they had admitted to having had up to 60K + troops in Syria. No telling how many it really is though I guess. Iran is close behind them and Turkey also. They have formally allied themselves with Iran, and Turkey. Hurting bad with oil prices having dropped especially. I just wonder if he is eyeing those major oil and gas deposits found in Israel and off the coast. Wouldn't be hard for him to manufacture some excuse to just march in there. I would not doubt that Iran is slavering at the possible opportunity to accompany him, and murder some Jews and destroy Israel from off of the map (which they threaten to do on more or less a daily basis). Turkey is no friend of Israel either. Maybe that is what is behind Iran's recent provocations through their proxies in Gaza; try to get the Israelis to focus their gaze away from the North and onto Gaza.... Let the Holy Spirit teach you then you will be well taught. How can you not see that that which is prophesied in Eze 38 is that which was revealed to us in Rev.20:8-9. We see that YAH prophesied that He will bring Gog and his allies against His people / His land. View Eze 38:16. And we see in the Book of Revelation, John revealed to us that YAH used Satan to gather Gog ,Magog and their allies, deceiving them, to bring them against His land populated by the saints. 1st look at how the invading passy is described in Eze 38:16 "And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, AS A CLOUD TO COVER THE LAND ; it shall be in the latter days. Note that it says" in the later days. And here is how Gog ,Magog and their allies are described by John in Rev 20:8 ;" THE NUMBER OF WHOM IS AS THE SAND OF THE SEA ." Compare the two and the only difference is the words used the describe the same Gog,Magog and their allies. 2nd. Ezekiel is prophesying and John revealed . Ezekiel was told to prophecy whereas John was shown the fulfillment of the prophecy.... and he revealed it to us. In Ezekiel. 38:22 , The Lord told Ezekiel to prophesy the way in which He was going to destroy Gog,Magog and their allies. It says, "And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I WILL RAIN UPON HIM, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, AN OVOVERFLOWING RAIN, AND GREAT HAILSTONES, FIRE, AND BRIMSTONE." Adding Revelation 20:9 it says that AND "FIRE CAME DOWN FROM GOD OUT OF HEAVEN, and devoured them. So far I haven't heard any of the scholars pointing out the reason why YAH was bringing such an attack on His people in His land. It is there in Ezekiel 39. Who are the saints whom Gog Magog and their company is going to attack? They shall be the descendants of those who shall make it into the kingdom i.e the land of Israel wiith Christ.... andl spent 1000yrs with Him. Because they will transgress in the land , at a time when they were dwelling" in safety and none making them afraid" that YAH will bring Gog Magog and the massive armies against His people. "And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword." See Zechariah 13:8.

There is not indication anywhere that John is repurposing verses from the Old testament in writing Revelation. He is not doing that. He is just writing what he is seeing . I don't know why you keep saying John is making a writing out of Old Testament verses. He is not doing that. He is just doing what Jesus told him to do, in Revelation 1:11, "What you see write in a book..." He is just writing what he is being shown.

Once you drop the cold-war suppositions about Gog and Russia, current American foreign policy makes even less sense. Wild eschatology is not as harmless a hobby as we once assumed.

Gog is not Antichrist. Gog of Ezekiel 38/39 is the White Horseman/1st Seal of Revelation. Gog dies on the 6th Seal by God Himself. Gog is buried in Hamon-Gog. Gog will be resurrected out of this grave in Hamon-Gog into Antichrist. Antichrist is thrown into the Lake of Fire not buried in any grave. Gog dies on the 6th Seal. Antichrist rises as the Beast of the Sea on the 6th Trumpet. This is why Gog has his own name and is not Antichrist. You have to understand who the 1st Seal and White Horseman really is. Gog. Antichrist is Supernatural. Gog is a man who will die and be buried.
